California's "shadow welfare system" for illegal aliens costs taxpayers $11 Billion per year | Eastern NC Now

Many liberal states try to get around federal laws that provide that illegal aliens are ineligible for welfare type programs. A recent report in City Journal has revealed that California is running a shadow welfare system for illegal aliens that spends $11 Billion of taxpayer money on those programs each year.
The system in run through California's regular welfare offices. In addition to other benefits, illegal aliens can receive college grants, rental assistance, smart phones, low cost car insurance, health care, and tax credits.
