Spain's Socialist government has fallen after a small party in their coalition defected, causing the Socialist-led coalition to lose its majority. A snap election has been called for November 29.
This comes as the Socialists are mired in a series of corruption scandals, that have already sent senior party officials to prison. Even the wife of Socialist Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has been indicted for corruption and is facing trial. It also comes as Sanchez has been using executive orders to push open borders, causing a huge backlash among citizens.
Spain has two major parties on the right, the traditional conservative Popular Party and the populist nationalist anti-immigration Vox Party. Both have been doing well in provincial elections over the last two years, and have formed governing coalitions at the provincial level. Polls give them a strong shot at forming a national governing majority.
The recent invasion of Ceuta by hordes of illegal aliens has gotten a lot of attention in Spain, and that is not positive for the Socialists who let it happen.
