First midterm election result is in, and it is a flip from Democrat to Republican | Eastern NC Now

The first election result of the midterms is in, and it is a flip of a governorship from Democrat to Republican.  The vote swing was 3.4 points in favor of the Republicans compared to the last election.

This election result is in this early because it came from Guam, where it is already election night due to the time zone.   Republican Territorial Senator Vincente Ada defeated former Territorial House Speaker Terese Terlaje, a Democrat.  Democrats have held the governorship for the last eight years.

The control of the territorial senate was also up for grabs, and Republicans have won that, too, from the former Democrat majority.

Hopefully, this is a good sign for results we will be seeing later this evening.

Meanwhile, the Las Vegas oddsmaker with the best history of success in predicting elections, Wayne Allyn Root, known as "America's Oddsmaker" and the "King of Vegas Sports Gambling", has revealed that he has made two personal bets on the midterm elections.  One was that Republicans would hold the Senate, and his biggest bet was on Ken Paxton winning the Texas Senate seat.  Root does say the GOP will probably lose the House.
