For years, even before Mr. Trump was elected, I was witnessing a mighty "sea change" in the American spirit of patriotism and overall collective intellect, which began to wane in 2009, and has now devolved into a condition that concerns me greatly.

My fellow Americans: Four years ago, we launched a great national effort to rebuild our country, to renew its spirit, and to restore the allegiance of this government to its citizens.

Kennedy Cousar's birthday party was unlike like that of most 9-year-old girls. She invited her friends, her schoolmates, even members from church, but instead of birthday gifts she asked her guests to participate in a fun run, a fund-raiser for homeless people.
