We need to fix our budget process. Beaufort County currently uses a continuation budget process to determine our budget and our tax rate.

Is 'three times in a row a charm' in the tax raising business here in Beaufort County? Nonetheless, its government's majority believes that yet another tax raise in three consecutive years suits its citizens just fine; so charmed we must be.

During the February Beaufort County Commissioners meeting the County manager, Brian Alligood, took issue with those of us who think continuation budgets are bad things, maybe even evil.
