On March 25, the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services' Division of Social Services (DSS) and the Consulate General of Mexico in Raleigh signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) that protects Mexican minors in the event they have been separated from their parents or guardians.

On Friday and Saturday, August 5-6, the Association of Mexicans in North Carolina (AMEXCAN) and the consulate general of Mexico set up shop in the Greenville Convention Center , Greenville to give identification to illegal immigrants in order that they can work in the state and vote.
