It is almost April and still, we wait for tulips. The evenings in March still warrant a blanket and frost blankets the fields of winter wheat, in the first hours, of the day.

Children are out of school and farmers are harvesting winter wheat. "Queen Annes' Lace" and the Day Lilies bloom and mark the time better than any calendar. This is the prelude to summer at the rabbit patch.

I drive to work as the sun is coming up. I declare that the sun rising over a field of winter wheat is as beautiful as anything. Usually, the wheat fields are edged with woodland trees.
