YOU lie!
In 2022 Darren Armstrong was of the organizers of a fundraiser event for the GOP and Kidwell because in that year Kidwell said he wasnt able to raise any money. Armstrong put in a $1000 check. This group raised a total of $30,000 and gave $11,000 of it to Kidwell.

Stop being such an ass-kisser.

Just say NO to Kidwell who is well known to be unresponsive to the
average non-elite citizens who seek his help locally.

Its really quite comical!
What we have here is an alias smearing my alias. LOL

I have no doubt that if these Kidwell funded hitmen knew my true name they would do everything to make me wish I didnt live here. All because I dont believe in the things they believe. Its just like those anarchists in Minnesota who are harassing anyone who they perceive is not on their team. Even inside a Church. These types are the true Haters.

Vote YES for Darren Armstrong!
For a better Future, Just say NO to Kidwell.

VOTE YES on ARMSTRONG! A BETTER FUTURE!

Unfortunately Borderhawk, You are acting like a paid lobbyist, up Kidwell's ass for a paycheck. There can be no other reason for such
prolific butt kissing.

Borderhawk, you are just an opportunistic liar.
I asked Armstrong who approached him about running for Dist. 79, and I can you, it was NO ONE in the NC Leg, or anyone working for the NC Leg. And it wasnt Berger or Dixon.

I have no doubt you are being purposefully fed dirty talking points by Kidwell himself. You are doing the same kind of crap Dems do to Trump and his supporters...that is to try to destroy them by association. I find that kind of politics cheap and crude.

But that seems to be how its done around these parts. From the City bosses to the County, then NCLeg, all the way up to DC and The New World Order... the powerplayers will try to bring down anyone who rubs the bosses the wrong way.

Kidwell cant be trusted any longer. He needs to be retired.
Commented: Sunday, January 18th, 2026 @ 6:11 pm By: Washingtonian
Just SAY NO to KIDWELL who conspires with Garris to manipulate us Local Yokels on everything that is local business, but wont assist the people of this district with local needs.

VOTE for a FRESH NEW Generation, who has never run for public office before. Vote for a FARMER, Darren Armstrong, who is more closed connected to the needs of real humans.

And remember this folks, if a person tells lies about a new GOP
candidate, in order to build up a favorable image of an old incumbent, then that person cant be trusted on anything.

Give HOPE a CHANCE: VOte Out the old tainted politicians and in with the NEW.

Kabuki theater continues at the City Council meetings as pre written motions are prepared by "employees" for the members to read like the rubber stamps they are.

These preprepared motions are Not basic, they contain propaganda? Why do that? Isnt a vote on a straight up issue enough?? Nope because they "employees" want to "manage" our opinions. So why doesnt a Council member ask, WHO wrote this preprepared Motion for me to read? Who, not which Dept? Does the Council member ever stop to think...why am I reading this insertion of propaganda? Why dont I just NOT read that part? Or is the Council under pressure to conform?

Sooo not only that but now taxpayer are buying cell phones for th Council at $60 each per month. Do we also pay for cellphones for the CM, the City Attorney, the Dept heads too?

TAXPAYERS Want To Know!
Also, isnt the County now being sued for activities of Social Services?

Nick Fritz, You need to edit what you wrote here:
"The city council does not have any direct access to the local government. The council must appoint a city manager, and the manager is the executive of the government who gets everything accomplished. The manager relays the information from the various departments of government to the council and gives the council advice or takes the council's advice back to the various departments."

The State of NC gives the City Council TOTAL authority at all times, even when the city is with or without a CM.
The Charter of League of Munipalities does not override NC STATE LAW regarding the authority of the City Council.
When you surrender all your STATE given power over to the CM, all you are doing is saying the Council members are too lazy to do the job you promised us you would do. In otherwords, passing the buck.

By the way, I think the pledge of allegiance is a prayer. It mentions God twice. "So Help me God!"

Some of the people swooning adoration of Kidwell on this comments page are acting like Dems. It is really a sad thing to see. Do ya'll recall Harry Reid who told lies about Mitt Romney, who then lost his bid for the Presidency? Afterwards, Sen Reid was exposed for his lies abt Mitt. His response was: "Yeah but it worked didnt it."
So what we see here is the same kind of Democrat smear job, but its coming from Republicans against fellow Republicans. Stop being a "useful idiot."

Nick, because of all the resignations and retiring of old council members, its difficult to judge if there is still a secret Cabal in Washington Govt. But know this, if it still exists, its M.O. is to wear you down, tire you out, and make you give up on getting any answers. Dont say it cant happen to you, because it can. At which point of course you will become just another rubber stamp for whatever the CityManager and his loyal employees want you to do and think.
As a Council member, maybe you should stop being so NICE with them. Demand results or you will call them out at public meetings!

They smear a Republican challenger by trying to associate him with the names of people they dont like.

Kidwell is spreading this BULL Sh*t! Its called dirty politics and Kidwell knows how to do that well.

Now he is whining that he is having to stay local here in Dist 79 to defend *his seat! My point is he should have been staying here all along to support his constituents instead of dumping all over them...why because he thinks he is a King. He got a wake-up call.

Politicians are like diapers and should be changed OFTEN! And for the same reason. They become dirty.

Kidwell disrespects local people at a personal level.
He obviously thinks that he is a KING, and we locals nothing... just useless people that he can simply brush aside, and not even willing to spend a few minutes of his time being our representative. I for one do not need a Representative like that in my life. Anybody at this point would be better than Kidwell. And as I said Darren Armstrong seems like a very GOOD MAN.

Armstrong is not a politician. He said he had never run for office before. So he is sociable to all humans he comes across, unlike the big talkers here who perceive themselves as RALEIGH INSIDERS and who try to manipulate we local yokels, as if we were too dumb to know that our happy lives depend more on how we are treated by govt locally than in Raleigh.
Read the link: He said:
"Armstrong also emphasized the importance of improving representation for the region in Raleigh. “I hope to build relationships and improve opportunities for District 79,” he said. He added that he has never run for office before, marking this as his first campaign for public office.

By voting Yea, Rep. Kidwell SUPPORTED:
• The 2023 Appropriations Act (HB 259)
• The embedded provision (Section 27.9) exempts legislators from the NC Public Records Act
• It allows legislators to decide what is or isn’t a public record
• The ability to destroy records they choose not to classify as public

This change is huge because:
• It eliminates the public’s ability to monitor NCGA decision‑making
• It weakens investigative journalism
• It creates a 1‑way transparency imbalance
• It allows lawmakers to hide communications w lobbyists, donors,& contractors
• It undermines the principle of open govt
The NC Press Assoc, called it a “significant threat” to transparency.
• Gives legislators sole discretion to decide what is or isn’t a public record.
• Allows them to destroy records w/out oversight
• Removes any obligation to respond to public‑records requests
It is a “major expansion” of legislator power paired with a “cutoff” of public access.

I agree w Befuddled.
Three more years of Trump is not going to save this country nor Beaufort County. If a Dem gets elected to the WH just bend over and kiss your cherished liberty goodbye.
I watched a video of an English woman in England say:
"This is the beginning of the end. There is no going back for us."
That may be true for the USA as well.

All I can do is vote the scroundrels out...and that begins with Kidwell. I'm voting for Darrin Armstrong who I understand has a home in Belhaven. I wouldn't vote for Kidwell, even if he were the only GOPer on the ballot. His contempt for the people he is supposed to
represent is obvious. Good Riddance!

There is a quote: "One person's junk is another person's treasure."
That seems 2b the way Hate Speech/symbols is understood.
People r easily misled. Humans who r naturally compassionate, cannot resist hugging a tree n need. AND so That is why we must always revert back to the rule of law, THE Constitution.
One must always b aware of the philosophy of their elected ppl. Either they r law & order ppl or they r let's "work the system" types.
When we choose to live inside a city, we r actually accepting the city's ordinances & zoning laws. These laws exist so that humans can live closely together & not b combatting each other. If the city govt is "working the system" then they r creating needless stress on
citizens,& actually violating civil rights IMO.
Abt 3yrs ago I heard a councilman say "I think pple should b able to do what they want on their own land. So w that attitude we now hav govt workin th system to benefit a landowner, to th detriment of neighbors.
IS THIS NEW GOVT DIFF?

BUT JS, Tyre is a member of the new council and he says he didnt get a chance to approve the "new agenda." Sooooo, my question is WHO was working with the City Attorney to set up the new agenda?? Who knew about it? Who had the inside scoop, it certainly wasnt Tyre who was also on the new council. So I think for the sake of transparency it is a good thing that this agenda was Erased. The city may have been Saved by Tyre, even if saving us was not part of his plan.
Quite frankly I believe that those in the Washington Govt have been "working the system," to get what they want. Please understand that every time a govt works the system to favor one outcome, they are stepping on the toes of others who perhaps are being hurt by it. Its not good Govt. "Working the system" needs to stop. It leads to
institutionalized corruption.

"Trust but Verify."

I finally got to see the video of the outgoing city council meeting. Its where Councilman Tyre questions the City Attorney about the new Agenda for that meeting.
The City attorney admits that he wrote it for the new Council members. Tyre says but NO ONE on the current council knew anything about these contracts on the new agenda. The City Attorney replies, "But THE STAFF did."
If you put your thinking cap on, I believe you will now see part of the problem in our City. THE STAFF think they run the show. Even to the point of circumventing the City Council and perhaps pulling a fast one over the new naive incoming council.
Isnt that what FBI Director Comey admitted to doing to Flynn and Trump...slipping in a poison pill before they could get their feet on the ground?
THE STAFF need an attitude adjustment, including the City attorney.

Cheeseman's Craven County salary will be $235,000. What were we paying?
Craven County said Cheeseman was chosen because of his skillset which includes experience in budgets! I think Hood would disagree.
Cheeseman said he chose them because they are looking for the same things he has, or wants, to give.

Interesting isnt it that the County manager resigns, then the City manager, then the Superintendent of Education, then the Washington Deputy City manager, then Community Director Dail. Which tells how the old Council cancelled the agenda for the New Council. All of this is very odd. But it might be a good thing in the long run. It says the City attorney helped with the Agenda.

ALSO Director Mike Dail is also resigning from the City STAFF.
Does a Cabal behave like rats on a sinking ship?
We need a few more resignations in my humble opinion.

Stan, do you seriously need to know the "motive" of the man who planted two viable pipe bombs in DC. He obviously cared nothing about human life. Perhaps he was the sort of guy who thought "kill them all and let God sort them out." His motive doesnt matter under the law.

The motive of the Biden Admin was that the bomber did not fit the
narrative that White Supremacist Radicals were the cause of Jan 6 and needed to be hunted down and locked up in a corrupt and crappy D.C. jail.

There is Too much Govt control by small brains.
I read... I think it was about China of old. The emperor blamed the
sparrows as the cause of hunger. He said the birds are eating the grain. So he decreed that all people should work day and night to kill off the birds. Finally there were few birds left, but guess what, then came the insects. The insects ate everything. The people starved.

In England a religious leader decreed that cats were demons. So they killed off all the cats, then came the RATS and the Black Death.
