Greg Dority Plans to File for the 4th District Congressional Seat

Author: Stan Deatherage | Published: February 2nd, 2010

Republican Greg Dority, a man who well understands the organized madness of a full frontal campaign, takes the battle on the road to North Carolina's 4th Congressional District to vie for the seat currently held by Reprsentative David Price. Greg Dority has run well, while running consistently hard, for the 1st District Congressional Seat in 2002 against Incumbent Frank Balance, and later against the disgraced Democrat's replacement G.K. Butterfield in 2004. Dority has long taken this Quixotic ambition to its immutable end, losing in the the heavily Democrat, and predominately African - American district, but running a good, hard race - far outdistancing poll numbers that the demographics would suggest as a competent challenge.

Greg Dority's great passion, besides his hopeful service to the immediate needs of the 4th District constituents, is to fix the economic malaise that grips this nation, and closer to home, the people of North Carolina. Included below is a press release from the candidate that explains his resolve:

"The decision to enter a political race is never an easy one. Constraints -- family, financial, philosophical -- abound and obstacles, especially in challenging an incumbent, are high. Yet today I am proud and eager to come before you and seek your support in my effort to win the Fourth District Congressional seat currently held by liberal David Price.

Many of you know me and have supported my effort in the past. While my support for our military and the need for a tougher stance against illegal immigration has not wavered, my focus during this campaign will be on our rapidly collapsing economy and the need for a return to the fiscal conservatism that once permitted our nation to drive the world's economic engine.

Our country is being systematically looted by artificially low interest rates, endless government bailouts and a path toward socialism that strangles the initiative and prosperity of small business. Without small business the only route to new job creation is larger government -- which suits the president and his cronies just fine. "Grow government and our power by killing small business," is their mantra. Meanwhile unemployment misery grows amongst our friends and neighbors.

If you are a conservative Republican you know exactly what I'm talking about. If not, well, I'm certain the other guy appreciates your vote.

Having run a congressional race before and enjoyed financial support from sitting Members of the House, I understand what it takes to deliver a strong message in a tough district. Combined with my capacity to outwork any opponent on the ground at the grassroots level, I bring superior balance to the winning equation necessary to reap victory in November.

Thank you once again for your support and may God continue to bless America."

Greg Dority, a Washington, North Carolina resident, seeks this seat in which he is not a resident. He feels, however, that his passion and his capability to serve the folks within the 4th District, transcends his inability, at this time, to reside within the district.
