Gene actually answered the one on chauvinism: Which was, 'I am Conservative like a Muslim Fundamentalist'.
He never answered the one on everyone funding the killing of babies. Gene's Liberal tendencies may be at conflict with some deep, unresolved semblance of decency.

SD: YES.
I can give longer answers. I had three psychology courses at SMU and a test in the back of a self help book says I am a Genius. (joke) Seriously, a debate has structure. I am not understanding the format below.

Ted: Does that include feminist women, because I have to be able to talk to whoever I find attractive?
Fortunately, I did not marry a feminist, and none of my daughters are feminazis, and as they grow older and wiser, they will probably be completely normal.

Ted,
Your minimalist summation may be the only answer I get other than I am 'tantamount to Muslim Fundamentalist', and that from someone who deeply admires the one American President, Jimma, who did more for Muslim Fundamentalism than any other president ever, even more than Hussein. After two attempts to discover whether Gene approves of publicly funded abortion, I will not try again. Actually, I cannot fathom why Gene allows himself to lose every debate he starts with me. He lost this one fast, faster than usual, and with just one word - Chauvinism. He might as well have cried 'RACIST'!

Embrace it man, your inner feminist will accept you for it.

So Gene, I get it: Chauvinism is you projecting your inner feminist angst against someone who knows stuff, can explain stuff, and actually can answer simple questions?
Using this feminist name calling technique shifts the conversation away from you losing the debate, yet again, but offers you inclusion with Liberal feminists, most of whom can't think their way out of a wet paper bag. I get it now, and thanks for giving me another Liberal buzz word/phrase, actually slang, that some of us have no need to use.

Stan---I'm warming up my chipper and ready to come by if you keep calling me a "liberal," bro. In the spirit of Christian love, I'm tired of the disrespect of a thinking man who is just to the left of centrist . . .

Gene, once again:
1) Do you believe in the public funding of a woman's private business? 2) What does the Liberal slang word of chauvinism mean (you accused me of it, you should know what this Liberal word means)?

Stan---if you don't know that a chauvinist is a male conservative tantamount to the Muslim Fundamentalists, you have no clue.
Such men think they have the right to control women like some Drill Sergeant. That never works and the wise man makes "Yes Dear" his last word in the argument! ![]()

I am Baptist in heritage = individual freedom (autonomy) / majority vote / conservative with a brain ~~~ NOT Calvinist which is a Presbyterian thing and currently a bone of contention among Southern Baptists. . . The Conservatives were such control freaks they kicked my kind of Baptist to the curb---BUT we reorganized to the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship.
Public funding of abortions is a mute point. If you will clarify, I will gladly answer. I think something we can agree upon is careless child production by people on welfare already. My position is that no one on the public dole should ever have more than 2 children. If they can't take care of it, it should be part of the program to clip their tubes after #2. How's that for being a good conservative!!! ![]()

And one more thing: What is chauvinism that you accuse me of?
I know that it is a Liberal word that you, Liberals, use, but scholars, such as myself, just never use that form of slang; in fact, from a Search here in BCN, the word has never been used here out of the more than a hundred million words used so far in BCN. So, what is chauvinism, and why is it so important to you?

1965 Five years after the FDA approval, 6.5 million American women are on pill, making it the most popular form of birth control in the U.S. Great article about younger days.

Diane and I are about agreed on the basics of pregnancy and abortion. I think we both see how serious this is. As I matter of fact, I see nothing wrong with her logic nor morality in this. Again---remember my first comment: "I have never met a woman who had an abortion who did not have a great sense of guilt over her decision." We need a special degree of compassion as men to realize how precious and tender are those feelings.
I wonder how many in Bobby Tony's adult apartment complex gave much thought to their lusty actions before they missed a period!!! He can give us a male participant point of view. I can't since I made up my mind not to try and bed any woman before we were married. I am confident I didn't miss a thing except VD with that that decision I stuck with. Perhaps, what we see here is a male / female split in outlook. They men have the urge to merge as soon as we start growing man-hairs. It used to be that girls knew their mothers would kill them if they became sluts. After 1960, too many women have nothing to give their daughters except "Don't do as I did, but it sure was fun until I had to get an abortion, myself." I have thought on Stan's attitude. It still seems to have more to do with male chauvinism than empathy for women. The OT quote is stupid science --- before mankind had a clue about the details of fertilization and gestation. Many people of that day were sure "it was something you ate!" ![]()

Well, well --- that was a mouthful, Stan . . .It sounds more like a stump speech than a reasoned argument with courtesy toward women and respect for them as the only part of Creation fitted to conceive and nurture a baby for 9 months of gestation.
I happen to know any number of Pediatricians and the only ones I have talked with revere life and would never abort after the first trimester. On the other extreme are those who act like every abortion is a crush the skull / suck the body parts out mutilation --- which few are! I am being more practical and more spiritual than you care to think. It appears you are being a bit male chauvinist to me . . . ![]()

This is Diane's inner biologist taking over, and I will always defer to that on most issues.
There is also the: "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee" - Jeremiah 1:5 (King James) - directive of thought.
