She fought the good old boy network but due to the bias against females in the drag racing sport, she agreed to pictures emphasizing her gender. She never much cared for the nickname "Cha Cha" but it help attract sponsors. Perhaps the greatest compliment came from legendary drag racer Don Garlits.
"Now, if you ask who do I have the most respect for, I'd say Shirley Muldowney. She went against all odds. They didn't want her to race Top Fuel, the association, the racers, nobody...Just Shirley" Shirley's picture submitted to be fair and balanced in this discussion.

Breaking gender barriers is nothing new for Shirley Muldowney. She has been doing it all her life. At the rate we are going now they will have to remove all gender references in this woman's life story. She is fighting lung cancer at Charlotte hospital. Thanks to BCN headline banner for highlighting this.

I may be partly responsible by inciting Ted to pen this post, so I apologize for BCN if anyone might be offended by this article.
Rather than getting pissed off by the massive stupidity of the whole transgender issue, which is so important to Liberals, I just tend to find all of this rather funny. Rather than 'laughing with you', those who might be offended, I am more inclined to be 'laughing at you'.
