I do not. With proper training including mental health intervention training, I think ROs are good to have.

Another big blunder on the Georgia school shooting has just been revealed. The shooter texted his mother "I'm sorry, Mom" well before the shooting. Call logs show she called the school 30 minutes before the kid opened fire and had a 10 minute call with the school. She warned them that it was an "extreme emeergency" and they needed to find her son immediately. There was no lockdown or even apparently any effort to find the kid. It won't bring the dead back, but the injured and the families of the dead are going to have open season in court against the school system for gross negligence.

No, Bob, I am conservative on handling mental health issues, and in doing so with proper due process to protect the rights of the mentally ill. All you seem to care about is taking peoples gund. Committing a mentally ill person puts them in a position to receive treatment, and after a proper court hearing with due process, establish limitations on the mentally ill person to protect himself and the public if he is not institutionalized.
A mentally ill person or a terrorist can kill as many people by driving a car into a crowd as they can with a gun, and the body count in the recent mass knifing by an illegal alien in Germany equaled that of the Georgia school shooting. You have a bad case of tunnel vision, based on your hatred of guns, to think that guns are the only means for mentally ill people or terrorists to commit mayhem.

That’s right. Humans kill each other at an alarming rate. Never gonna change. Clearly it’s good policy to have the least restrictive gun laws possible. Better for 50 nut jobs to shoot up 50 schools than have one man lose his gun for merely suggesting he plans to shoot his wife in the face. Gun control in Europe has meant a huge increase in knife crime. For example, in Germany, where Hitler's 1938 Reich gun law in still in effect, a new site has been set up to identify knife crime across the country. messerinzidenz.de
The head of Germany's police union says Germany is no longer a safe country because of knife crime, and it is mostly (79%) perpetrated by illegal aliens. There are also mass knifings. Knife crime is also out of control in other European countries which have gun control. Oh, and gun control does not seem to stop criminals from getting guns, just law abiding citizens.

That kid's online posts about shooting up a school would have been enough for a law enforcement agency to initiate a commitment procedure against him based on his being a threat to himself or others a year before the shooting happened. The FBI knew all about those online threats, but neither they nor local law enforcement did anything. That is where the fault lies. Those civil commitment proceedings are available in all states and have been for many many years. They afford full due process rights. Law enforcement knew about this deranged kid and dropped the ball. Civil commitment laws do a much more thorough job in dealing with the mentally ill and they are already in place.

When trampling on free speech and the seperation of powers in the name of a warped vision of "democracy" is one's agenda, it is not surprising that they also want to do away with due process of law.
I saw an article from the New York Times published in the 1930s reporting with a straight face on how the Nazi government in one of their states was having to restrict gun rights because of the danger of those Jews shooting Nazi party members. That reminds me a whole lot of the mentality of Bonkers Bob. Of course, in 1938, Hitler decreed the Reich Gun Law which took guns away from virtually all civilians, just what a totalitarian regime needed. He will never admit it, but I would bet that deep down in secret, Hitler is Bonkers Bob's hero for his taking away guns from the German people including the Jews. The issue is mental health, not guns. We need to keep these deranged indviduals out of our schools. Mental asylums are where they need to be. In this one, the corrupt FBI knew about ahead of time that this kid wanted to shoot up a school but ignored him because they were too busy on their political agenda of going after conservatives. With those illegal alien criminal gangs that Biden and Harris have unleashed on our society, we need to be armed to defend ourselves, our familites, and our homes. Bonkers Bob wants to leave us unprotected against these vermin.

RH is exactly right. The authoritarian progressives among us want to extinguish the due process rights of the citizenry. Their big knee jerk excuse for doing this is to keep us safe from the crazy shooters. Of course, this progressive tactic is completely illogical.
Progressives want to erode people's protected rights in order to better control people. Those dummy or misguided followers of progressives haven't figured out that the end of protected rights might end up affecting them too. They are so focused on cancelling the rights of others that they have not figured that out. This country does have a mental health problem. That problem does need to be addressed. This country has a serious border violation problem that is probably our biggest national security threat. We also have a very serious problem with governmental agencies that have run amuck with corruption and gone power mad. They are a threat to the American people. The assassinations and attempted assassinations over the last 65 years are another issue entirely in relation to the gun rights issue. We are well overdue for an honest, serious investigation and study of those assassination events.

The big difference between the far left's "red flag laws" and the laws that have existed for many years in every state to commit mentaly ill people is due process. Hearings for commitment of the mentally ill respect the right of due process. "Red flag laws" do not. Conservativwes have always asked why "red flag laws" are necessary when laws for involuntary commitment of mentally ill persons already exist, and the snswer is simple. The far left wants to take guns without affording their owner the right of due process of law.
If someone really is mentally ill, they should have lots of restrictions. They should at least have some in-patient care in most cases, and if let out into the world, they need restrictions on all types of weapons, or things that could be used as weapons, like cars.

The father of the nutter who shot up the Georgia school should be charged with accessory before the fact to four counts of first degree murder. After law enforcement told him that his son was making posts about shooting up a school, the idiot father gave the son a rifle. What did he expect? Both need the death penalty.

Wrong, Bolshevik Bob. Mentally ill people, after a hearing with full due process, need to be given appropriate treatment and restrictions. More of them ought to be put is asylums instead of being out on the street. Those who are allowed to stay out of asylums need to have appropriate restrictions, like not be allowed drivers licences or any types of weapons.
What we need is NUT CONTROL, not gun control. Gun control is what every tyrant wants. And Bolshevik Bob is going full Stalin on guns. Even Lenin did not do gun control. That was Stalin. And, of course, Hitler, too. Bobbie wants us fully at the mercy of and defenseless against those violent illegal alien cfriminal gangs that Biden-Harris is allowing to flood the country.
