The Medieval Warm Period was not 40 million years ago, but just a few hundred years ago, and the Holocene Maximum was only a few thousand years ago. Those warm periods, lasting centuries, were interspersed with cold periods, the most recent of which, known as the Little Ice Age or the Maunder Minimum just ended in the 19th century. The Earth has been in a natural warming cycle since then.
CO2 is a minor greenhouse gas. The most important greenhouse gas is water vapor, which accounts for 90% of the greenhouse effect. Without the greenhouse effect, the Earth would be a cold dead planet. It is the greenhouse effect that keeps the Earth warm enough to support life. Climate records from the ice core samples drilled in the artic and antarctic show that build ups of CO2 in the atmosphere do not precede warming of the climate, they follow it by a hundred years ago. That shows to any rational person that more CO2 is not the cause of the warming but the result of it.

You are wrong. C02 is a greenhouse gas. Pure fact. As for the rest of your argument:
Conditions on earth 40 million years ago were indeed very different than today. However, life on earth as we know it has developed during a long period of relative stability. That stability is being altered at an incredibly (in geologic terms) fast pace. The industrial revolution has warmed the earth. The natural heat sinks, forests & oceans, have absorbed all they can. Changes will accelerate. Humans will argue over our response to this phenomenon. My contention is that ignoring it for short term profit is the worst possible response and the most politically risky for any government. The second worst response is to blame Canada. (Ever wonder why these a-holes want to annex Canada and Greenland? Exploitation sure. But in addition, they see what's coming and know it's best not to tell you.)

The Earth's climate has had a lot more CO2 in the atmosphere in the past than it does at present, and it has NEVER been a cause of warming. In fact, it is a RESULT of a warmer climate. CO2 rises in sync with temperatures in about a 100 year lag, with CO2 rise FOLLOWING the temperature rise. CO2 is only a minor greenhouse gas. The most important greenhouse gas is water vapor, which accounts for about 90% of the greenhouse effect.
The "doomer" narrative on climate is proven to just be so much hot air by looking at actual climate history. The Medieval Warm Period was warmer than today for centuries and the planet thrived. Or one could go back to the Holocene Maximum when it was much warmer than today for three thousand years, and the heyday of ancient Greek civilization happened during that period None of the dire warnings of the climate alarmists that has passed the date they were supposed to happen, and there have been dozens of them, have EVER come true or even come close. That alone should give the climate doomers zero credibility. Global warming is little more than a conpiracy theory dressed up as science. It is akin to alchemy.

By 7th grade we learn that there is a balance associated with the systems that sustain us. Ever heard the phrase "too much of anything isn't good"? It applies to this discussion. It's true, many species of plants can survive in in hotter climates with higher concentrations of C02 in the atmosphere, but life is a balancing act and human intervention has consequences. Burning fossil fuels at the current rate has the whole planet out of whack. It shows up in a variety of ways. Most noticeable are triple digit temps, wildfire (smoke) and changing weather patterns. There are countless more. Look, no one is going to die tomorrow but we as humans are in uncharted territory. Not sure I want to be guided by those offering up 3rd grade science lessons. If MAGA wants to stay relevant, they better get educated on the topic or voters will turn on them. Stupid is just not good policy.

Bob, you do understand, do you not, that CO2 is NOT pollution. It is a necessary nutrient for plants, and without it, all plant life on earth would die, followed shortly by all animal life. Furthermore, without the Greenhouse Effect, the Earth would be far too cold to sustain life. That is basic science.
Yes. temps do go up in summer. At least you comprehend that. They go up more if we are in an El Nino cycle or a Super El Nino cycle, as we are now. Conservatives do want protection against pollution, including that generated by wind turbines and solar panels. What we do not believe in is the CO2 global warming conspiracy theory that even the UN's IPCC now seems to be backing off from. Even Bill Gates finally got some common sense and backed off the cliamte doom scare. You can, too, Bob.

If conservatives want to stay in power, like all elected officials do, they have to meet certain basic needs of their constituents. Some of those needs are economic such as affordability, jobs etc. but some are environmental. If the government can't deliver clean water, food and air, the public will demand change.
As summer temps soar, air quality degrades and fresh water is in short supply the public will take it out on someone. If MAGA wants to remain relevant, I would think addressing our shared environmental problems would be in their interest. Dig in all you want, but it just shortens the time the rest of us will put up with a party that fails to meet the basic needs of its citizens. Time will tell.

There he goes again! Our own resident Chicken Little is squawking that "the sky is falling". Like the fanatics of his ilk, he takes aspects of the El Nino / La Nina cycle as "manmade climate change." The Chicken Littles of this movement totally ignore that every one of the dire predictions of the mad scientists of the climate cult that have passed the date by which they were supposed to happen, and there have been dozens of those, have NOT happened or even come close. The climate scolds are batting ZERO. With that track record, only a fool would believe anything else they spew.
Even that nutty dingbat Greta Thunberg has shifted gears and is now promoting Hamas terrorism instead of the climate charade, but Bob is still stuck on stupid.

You have it backward on who is being voted out, Little Bobbie. The voters are turning against the CO2 climate cult. It happened this year in the Czech Republic where one of the top issues used by new prime minister Babis was opposition to the EU Green Deal, which he called "Green madness". His junior coalition partner, the new Motorists for Themselves party won seats for the first time with its main issue being opposition to EU climate policies.
Then one needs to look at polling for the next elections across Europe. In the UK, polls have been consistently showing the Reform Party led by Brexit hero Nigel Farage with a wide lead that will give it a substantial majority in the next parliament. One of their key issues is opposition to Labour's Net Zero CO2 policy which they call "Net Stupid". Then there is France, where polls are showing consistently that the National Rally, which opposes EU climate policies with a wide lead for the first round in next year's presidential election and clearly beating anyone who comes in second place in the runoff. In Poland, voters just elected a conservative president who is pushing for a citizen referendum to have Poland reject the EU Green Deal, and polls show three parties of the right -the Law and Justice Party, Confederation Liberty and Independence, and Confederation of the Polish Crown - which oppose EU climate policies with a lock on control of the next parliament. In Germany, the Altenariv fur Deutschland leads in all the national polls, and is on the brink of winning outright control of the two states that vote in September in state elections. AfD opposes EU climate policies. Or one could look at Australia, where recent polls give the lead to the One Nation Party, which only got 3% in last year's election. One Nation also just won a special election for what had long been a Liberal Party safe seat in the national parliament. This came after One Nation added strident opposition to the Labor government's climate policies to its traditional key issue of opposition to illegal immigration. One Nation has now pulled ahead of Labor as well as of the traditional parties of the right. On how fighting the climate kooks works in politics, one only has to look at Canada's largest population province, Ontario. Its former Liberal government was all-in on wind and solar, in spite of many citizens and local governments not wanting it in their backyards. The newly minted Conservative leader Doug Ford made opposition to wind and solar the centerpiece of his campaign, and flipped a 2 to 1 Liberal majority to a 10 to 1 Conservative majority on that issue. His new government's first act was to cancel all wind and solar projects that were in the pipeline, and then they repealed the Green Energy Act. Ford has gone on to win two more landslide elections since. The globalists have been trying to politicize the natural multi-century climate cycles that Earth has gone through since it has existed. The last natural warm cycle, the Medieval Warm Period was a time of prosperity, not disaster, and this current natural warm cycle will be as well.

Didn't you get the memo, Bob? Even that nutty Greta Thunberg has moved on. First it was globalist money man Bill Gates, long a promoter and funder of the climate charade who publishing a 17 page memo backing off the "climate doomer" bandwagon. Then others started dropping by the wayside. Most recently the UN's International Panel on Climate Change revised their chart of temperature predictions. The three highest lines were the ones they kept pointing to in the past as the most likely scenario for their Chicken Little prophecies. Now they have totally deleted the top two and admitted the next one is just academic and not likely to happen. I guess that after years when every time one of their predictions came to the time it was supposed to happen and none of them ever did, their credibility with people who can think for themselves was in the toilet.

Look, I get it. Most of you are terrified of the power going off and the A/C shutting down but going all in on fossil fuels is a short-term fix.
1/3 of the country has an AQI over 300. Again. The American SW is becoming unlivable due to heat and lack of water. We will make it through, but our kids and grandkids are gonna hate us. Stay cool

Now, a new Dutch government is trying to have another go at the farmers, and a key farmer leader is already calling for a resumption of the farmers mass protests. One of the ways they showed what they thought of the politicians into this climate extremism was to pour large quantities of animal waste on the steps of government buildings.

It is SUMMER, Little Bobbie. Summer is the hot part of the annual climate cycle. Haven't you figured that out yet? Don't be surprised when it is COLD in January. Then there is the multi-year El Nino / La Nina climate cycle, in which there are sometimes Super El Ninos, one of which we are currently in. El Nino / La Nina cycles impact both temperature and precipitation.
On top of that are the multi-century climate cycles, alternating warming cycles and cooling cycles. The Earth came out of the last cooling cycles, a paricularly cold one known as the Little Ice Age in the 1800s and is now in a natural warming cycle. We are not yet as hot as it was in the last warming cycle, the Medieval Warm Period, and a long, long way short of how hot it got in the hottest of the warming cycles, the Holocene Maximum. So, don't get your panties in a twist, Little Bobbie. It is all natural, and it has been happening since the Earth has been here.

Little Bobbie, it was a lot hotter than it is today during the previous warm cycle, the centuries long Medieval Warm Period, and our planet thrived. Indeed, the very hottest of past warm cycles, the Holocene Maximum, was much much warmer than toda y, and that coincided with the heyday of ancient Greek civilization. You climate alarmists simply don't know your climate history. Warming cycles have always been followed by cooling cycles.
