WHY would this individual have ANY opportunity to be hired? Anywhere? Red flag after red flag after red flag. Seems City Council is struggling mightily. I'm also certain I saw Max at the BC GOP Convention? WHY is he there and who is his support/supporters w/in the Party?

Decent article but I'd push back on one thing — framing the police chief hire as a conspiracy feels like a stretch without harder documentation. The Peachtree City stuff, though? That should have disqualified Rorie from the jump. A city manager who thinks taxpayer money should fund lawsuits against critics has no business running Washington.

The Non Patriot Left, which is a growing faction within the Democratic Socialist party, made BLM (Black Lives Matter) into a sociological imperative as a litmus test for all Liberals who were not able to truly think for themselves.

All a few terrible years of Leftist condemnation for everyone that did not bow and pay homage to Black Lives Matter (BLM), when enacting sociological policy at all levels of governing, we learned that BLM was just a front for the fraudulent practice of stealing money, and was NEVER about Black lives mattering.

We regular folk who live in the City of Washington appreciate real elected leaders, who are smart, and care about not defrauding their constituents by using higher taxes to fund pet projects that are purely self-serving, at least in a political sense, or worse.

For you who are "Woke," we understand that you appreciate the subterfuge of obfuscation, mendacity and fraud. We hard working, real folk just are not that way, the way of the "Woke."

Strong piece. I've lived here my whole life and I've never seen a council member treat a city employee the way Perreault/TYRE has treated Mr. Roberson in those meetings. Whatever your politics, that man deserves respect. Forty-plus years of service and this is what he gets? We can do better.

We city of Washington residents just can't catch a break when it comes to governing with some modicum of good sense. We need the new board majority to stick together and make a stand, a stand that even Government Man could be proud of.

Queen Carris just cancelled the Executive Committee meeting for Thursday April 9. The next meeting is Tuesday April 21 at 6:00 PM at 155 North Market Street in Room 211. Use entrance on East Second Street.

First District Republican convention is Saturday April 11 in Building 10 at the Community College. Registration is from 9:00 until 11:00 AM.

The "Non Patriot Left" is a phrase I coined to describe incontrovertible non patriot Democratic Socialist politicians here in our Representative Republic, who are decidedly non patriot in scope. I reckon all nations have politicians who are just non patriotic as America's "Non Patriot Left."

Carolyn Walker, who is the most actively liberal member of the school board is trying to build a liberal power clique around herself. These two ex-teachers will be part of it. Like Walker herself, at least one of them is a longtime Democrat who has switched as a matter of political convenience to Republican on paper to get elected. Walker directly recruited one of them to run and was involved in campaigning for both as well as for another challaneger.

Carolyn Walker wants to be the Queen Bee of the School Board.

Van Zant, from my observation, the splits within the Beaufort County Republican executive committee had nothing to do with the outcome of the school board primaries. The big factors were 1) the large turnout of Unaffiliated voters turning out for other races, 2) a network of teachers actively working for the ex-teacher candidates, 3) obvious networking between the two ex-teachers and the campaign of the special interest backed NC House challenger, both of whom openly operated out of his tent at early voting.

In my own race, I had support from both wings of the executive committee split, with members of both sides making financial contributions, endorsements, and doing volunteer work like addressing and stuffing envelopes. The only exceptions I am aware of were the Walkers, who had their own personal agenda in all the school board races and some other races

There was one former county party officer, who is no longer active in the party who did get rather involved in pushing Charles Hickman's opponent and ran her mouth a few days at early voting against other conservatives, but she has no position in the party presently.

Having three conservatives running for the Bath seat was a blunder that had a lot to do with losing that one.
