It was telling that neither of the pro-Cheeseman "Republicans" T.W. Allen and Daniel Hudson who were elected a few months ago to the school board even bothered to turn up at the recent Beaufort County Republican conventions. That speaks volumes. In the other two school board races from last year, both primary candidates, the winner and the loser, attended the convention but Allen and Hudson could not be bothered to do so.

Remember these truths about the infamous 4 acres of land:
First - If Beaufort County Schools had done their "homework" before considering the design of a 52 million school that they actually do NOT need, they would have known that they did not have title to all of the property thought owned, and then they could have elected to design beyond that real property encumbrance. Secondly - If the successful and innovative designing around that reality of not owning land was undesired, the Beaufort County Schools could have negotiated, at no cost, a trade for one piece of unneeded land, owned by the schools, for another piece of unneeded land by The City of Washington, all at NO cost to Beaufort County's taxpayers. Third - Since neither the successful negotiation for land was enacted, or an innovative design on land known to have not been owned was performed, the Schools asked the pathetically incompetent Center-Left Coalition, within the Beaufort County Commission, to waste $500,000.00 for overpriced land that was never needed to be purchased and paid for in the first place. I do believe that I have professed the history of this sorry bit of terrible governing, properly delivered in its essential formation, as an allegory of how NOT to govern, by representation of, our self-governed People.

Commented on Love Thy Neighbor In PoliticsWell said Buzz.
You mentioned a handful of the core problems here in Beaufort County, and I am in full agreement, especially you declaration: "The expanded Republican executive committee now has the horsepower to change these weak city, county and school boards. (Not to throw everyone out) but to do a better job of vetting and electing competent leaders who have leadership, and business & common sense." Yesterday, I did a podcast titled - The Blind Challenge - where I was asked this blind question: 'What is the biggest encumbrance to setting Beaufort County right for a brighter future?' My thoughtful answer, after nearly 33 years in Republican politics and nearly 25 years as a county commissioner was: 'The pathetically weak Beaufort County GOP over these last few decades, and how the continual election of weak, unvetted, and intellectually inadequate politicians to serve, along with some of us who truly care to be thoughtful in our promised representation, is a huge detriment to our self-governed progress on a far more Conservative path.'

The more I consider that $500,000 four-acre land purchase the more it sticks in my craw. Also, the county paid $10,000,000 to get that "free" education lottery building money. I wonder how many schools we could save with $10,000,000. Jeff makes a great point. It's a very bad look indeed.

DANIEL Hudson campaigned as a conservative, but so far he is a knee jerk supporter of the Cheeseman faction. Was he pulling voters legs in his campaign or does the Cheeseman mafia have something incriminating or embarassing on him? He is a huge disappointment as he asks "how high?" when Cheeseman says "jump". He is being controlled by Cheeseman.

The DEI approach by Obama and Biden to judicial nominees is part of what created our radical courts. One third of the judges in the DC district court are foreign born, for example, and they are also hardened leftists. The DC federal courts are a cesspool of socialism and they are trying to usurp the president's Constitutional and statutory powers. These despicable judges are beneath contempt.
Under Biden, DEI was the main driver in appointments. Only 14% of his nominees for federal judgeships were white men, and those were hard core leftwingers. The rest were female or minorities, and they were also all hardened leftwingers. We now have 200 radical leftwing district court judges around the country from Biden, and his lot are even worse than the Obama judges who were also heavily leftwing. www.zerohedge.com

Superintendants are always looking at that next bigger better paying job in another district and they are allergic to having anything conservative on their resume or anything that rocks the boat with the education establishment in Raleigh. They do not mind a totally "woke" curriculum but do nto want one that is traditional or conservative. Cheeseman is the usual breed of cat one gets with a superintendant but even more of a control freak than usual.
What is appalling is that we have so many weak school board members who are content to be led around by the nose by a liberal superintendant. Some of them can talk the talk but then absolutely refuse to walk the walk. This is absoolutely sickening. These weak kneed politicians are just pathetic. We need "woke" out of our schools and they just twiddle their thumbs. We do NOT need school board members who are yes-men to a liberal superintendant and grovel at his feet. We need school board members who will stand up and be counted for bringing in a proper curriculum.

Commented on Love Thy Neighbor In PoliticsI can't disagree with any of your "What is wrong with us items," but I wonder if people will come together enough to address them. Oftentimes, there are more of us drowning in apathy, consumed in factionalized hatred, or obsessed with greed, to make any real community gains. We all need to get our priorities straight.

The superintendent and staff are slow walking this issue and the board majority is content with that. The board gives it five ho hums.

When James Boasberg sided with criminal illegal alien terrorists against America, he committed High Treason and should have been arrested and jailed with no bond. He is of the same low character as Benedict Arnold.

Thanks for the historical /civics context Steve; however, one fact is assured in what you and I both wrote here, which confirms this one truth: James Boasberg is not qualified to be appointed as a federal judge.

Stan, Boasberg knows how the Constitution works. He just does not agree with the way it is supposed to work and misuses his office in a deliberately anti-Constitutional manner. The US Supreme Court ruled in 1948 when Truman used the Enemy Aliens Act to deport non-citisens 1) that the act is Constitutional, 2) it can be used in peacetime, and 3) that it does not allow judicial hearings for people deported. All it takes is an act of the president. Boasberg is defying the Constitution, statutory law approved by Congress, and the controlling interpretation of both by the US Supreme Court. He is doing is for brazenly political reaons.

This is a perfect example of why Republicans should slow down approving Democratic Socialist judges, especially ones like James Boasberg, who do not understand how the Constitution works.

One thing that needs to be done to make Sanctuary cities and states pay for this nonsense is to make them liable for any subsequent harm inflicted by illegal aliens they release. For example if one of these illegal alien child rapists released in Massachusetts comes to North Carolina and rapes a child (or anyone) here or does some other farm, the North Carolina victim ought to be able to sue Massachusetts in a North Carolina court and recover damages for pain and suffering, mental anguish, punative damages, etc.
The Tren de Aragua illegal alien who murdered Laken Riley, for example, was convicted in New York City, then released, and they even gave him a plane ticket to Georgia. Riley's parents ought to be able to sue New York City for that.

Illegal aliens are a huge cost to taxpayers. More needs to be done to cut them off from having their snouts in the trough. What about state and local funds? It all needs to be cut off.

Commented on Beaufort County Republican Convention - Earthquake"Fake Frankie" can hang out with whomever he wishes; he can vote however he desires, but when the Democrat Commissioner tries hide beneath the protective wing of the local GOP, after dumping all over the party platform for nearly a decade, and that disloyal protection continues, "there will be Hell to pay" somewhere, by someone until all is right in the world of Real Republicans here in Beaufort County.
After Saturday's Republican Convention, his asylum from reality is cancelled or will be very soon.

Commented on Beaufort County Republican Convention - EarthquakeFrankie Waters has always been a fake Republican. He changed only on paper, not deep down in his beliefs. During his first run for commissioner as a "Republican", Frankie and his wife were still contributing to Democrats, including a Democrat legislator. In 2022, Frankie was still up to his old tricks, contributing to the Democrat nominee for sheriff. No wonder he prefers to hang out with the liberal Democrats on the county commission.

Commented on Beaufort County Republican Convention - EarthquakeSteed, I agree: We take the Knockoff Republicans out in elections; however currently, the idiot Republicans in the local GOP support RINOs over Conservatives, so the public does not have a true understanding as to what is real.
Almost every time the idiot, Jody Forest, told someone I was not a real Republican, but a RINO, they told me of such comments, and I used it against the Beaufort County GOP since I was in an election for the People, not the stupid GOP members that coddled traitorous RINOs within the ranks of that ineffective Beaufort County GOP. That was an untenable situation and must be changed right now.
