Commented on A Question of EthicsMr. Alligood seems like a top-notch county manager. He’s on top of things. 👍
I can imagine what Hood said is true about people not paying the sewer bill. Forget to pay lights or water it’ll get shut off to remind you haha but kinda hard to shut off the drain for nonpayment. Would have to be something that was included in the property tax. We should investigate how to get these water treatment plants up to par at the very least. The one in Belhaven obtained a permit from NCDEQ to dump into the creek last year, leading to a “no swim” advisory. I know someone who lab tested the tap water in Belhaven; they said “don’t drink it”. I wonder what all the restaurants use?

Commented on Another Half Million of Beaufort County WasteOk. Is this the way this all went down?
1) The Beaufort County School system thought they owned all the land at the Eastern Elementary School site where the demolition and construction are to be. 2) They found out after the fact that they did not own all of the land. 3) Initially, the School system thought they had a gentleman's agreement with the City of Washington to use the land. 4. The City of Washington reneged on the agreement and decided to demand a land exchange involving the City of Washington gaining Kugler Field or P.S. Jones Park or a half million dollars. 5) The County School Board did not officially specify any preferred direction but offered to pay half the money (a quarter of a million dollars). 6) Then, the Beaufort County Board of Commissioners by a 4 to 3 vote decided to pay the money to the City of Washington instead of the land swap. If that is it, this has got darned near everything, including incompetence and greed.

The DOJ has opened criminal investigations and they have suspects, mostly FBI, in mulitple incidents. The leakers will lose their jobs and pensions, and DOJ intends to put then in jail where they belong.

Berger seems to be a Bush League Thom Tillis, running as a Republican but legislating as a Democrat. People like that hurt the Republican brand. The party would do well to show him the door.

Phil Berger is a turd in the Republican punchbowl who constantly betrays us on policy. What he did to ram through Roy Cooper's NC Green New Deal, HB951 in a radical left last minute rewrite of the original bill was atrocious and will cost NC electric ratepayers a bundle. The whole disgusting story can be read at this link:
www.beaufortcountynow.com Phil Berger has betrayed North Carolina Republicans. He needs to GO.

Phil Berger is the biggest phony in Raleigh, a North Carolina version of Washington, DC traitor Mitch McConnell. Berger is so big a whore to the liberal special interests that he ought to mount a red light over his office door. He is always turning tricks for them at the expense of Republican principles. Berger has also been Roy Cooper's biggest friend in the legislature, pushing all of Cooper's key policy issues, again against Republican principles. Heck, Cooper did not even need legislative Democrats when he had his good buddy Berger around. Given Berger's miserable legislative record, it is not surprising that he openly endorsed a liberal Democrat candidate against a Republican. He well and truly should be punished for that.

It was on the radio this morning that those at FEMA responsible for approving money to put illegal aliens in luxury hotels have been fired and that the clawback process has begun against the hotels. Good job, DOGE.

Commented on Why Ethics, We Have the Law?Washingtonian: The one thing equal to a lying politician is an incompetent politician.
I am currently in a meeting, a meeting that is being filmed, and the Superintendent did attempt to goad me into a fight, which did not happen because I only fight when I decide to. I did, however, request the "Title Search," with all the notes available, and he said he would run it by board. I thanked him for that consideration, and then I explained the finer points of self-governing constituency, who owns what; who has access to what ... that kind of thing. Going forward, it will be important for me to receive this and all other requests from all publicly funded agencies and governing boards.

Commented on Why Ethics, We Have the Law?Regarding Van Zant's comments on local govt: "business as usual."
Local Govt's motto should be: "Ask me know questions and I'll tell you no lies." Recently overheard: Politician: What would you like to hear today? I’ll tell you anything. Me: How about the truth for a change. Politician: Oh hell no! Anything but that. Me: How does that song go... “tell me lies. Tell me sweet little lies."

THey need to be put on an airplane back home where they belong, not "out on the street" here isn the US. Some in western NC are still living in tents in winter while bureaucrats sent tens of millions of FEMA dollars to put illegal aliens, who should not even be in the country up in luxury hotels.
The overwhelming majority of illegal aliens are military aged males but Little Bobbie wants to deflect to the minority who are women or children. Austria put illegal aliens in tents, but we put them in luxury hotels with the money that is supposed to serve Americans impacted by disasters. FEMA is another rogue agency that needs the USAID treatment.

This is how a wise, smart president operates.
He hires competent, hard working people, who are capable in getting the job done. Democratic Socialists do not believe in competency. That concept does not comport with their understanding of governing as a political group that abhors integrity, competency in lieu of identity politics.

Joe Rogan has praised DOGE as "uncovering insane corruption" in our government. The Democcrats and Deep Staters are desperately trying to cover up their corruption.
www.realclearpolitics.com These crooked Obama judges are engaged in a partisan political scheme to cover up corruption. They are despicable and should be removed from office.

Los Angeles is not the only place there have been leaks about ICE raids. For example, in Colorado, the extremely violent Venezuelan drime gang Tren de Aragua was clearly tipped off about a raid on them. Did the stinking FBI do that, too?
