Good for the Swiss! North Carolinians are being reamed out on this climate scam thanks to Phil Berger and his NC Green New Deal in another way. Berger worked with our NC energy monopoly to cause our rates to go up in his senate rewrite of HB951 to pander to this same scam. Undocumented Democrat Phil Berger NEEDS TO GO.

Jack Smith's Operation Arctic Frost was targeted at Republican senators and congressmen on what is known as a "fishing expedition". That was a huge abuse of power and should not be tolerated in a Constitutional republic. Even worse, the documents show that the Biden White House was aware of and condoned it.

The Democratic Socialists and the Non Patriot Left are extreme hypocrites when it come to their profestation for the "Rule of Law" in dealing with pesky Donald Trump existing as a consistently capable Article 2 President; while clamoring for "Due Process" when it comes to neutralizing foreign Narco Terrorists in our Executive's conducting of the current, and very Real War on Drugs here in this Western Hemisphere.

Jack Smith and James Boasberg are both threats to democracy and need to be prosecuted for what they have done. Their actions remind one of the Stalin Show Trials.

Commented on As the screws turnCV: You are right; it is concerning.
I was married in the Methodist Church in 1978, and was a member of Edenton Street Methodist in Raleigh until I moved my family back home here in Washington in 1984. I never attended a regular Sunday service at any Methodist church, here in Beaufort County, but I have been a member at 4 separate churches here in my county. Now, I am settled at River City Christian Center, which is more of a charismatic congregation, loaded with good, honest, caring folks, understanding a message of salvation through grace, and good works paramount in the attainment of a higher calling on this mortal coil. I never though the charismatic calling would suit me, but it does. It is a very sincere form of a worshipping fellowship, which is low on politics, and high on non judgemental behavior within this special congregation - perfect for me and my spouse of 47 years.

Commented on As the screws turnThe sane Methodists jumped ship from the foundering social gospel United Methodists a few years ago and formed the Global Methodist Church. This buffoon seems to be one who stayed with the leftist United Methodists. Her disjointed screed reflects that.

Commented on As the screws turnJV: I think this group that could possibly understand Lib's logic are people who operate from a prior predicate that Conservatives, aka "Normal People," are bad, mean, or wrong, and they will pontificate ad nauseum just to justify their simple position on their industrious neighbors, the backbone of our society writ large.

Commented on As the screws turnThe title of this article should be:
"As the screws loosen" As the common sense reader can tell, there have always been a few screws loose within the NC Methodist Conference. Between 2015-2020, the Conference began fuel-injecting Progressive politics into the church.....and eventually caused a complete separation of rural congregations/districts. Noone should rely on the Independent vote to secure an election, think about that one, BUT, from what I've noticed over the years, Independent voters tend to lean more conservative in key age groups. Her logic is both flawed and desperate. Through her political and ideological retardation, Lib has shown us the playbook of BOTH the looney left and the RINO right. They BOTH go by the public script and BOTH never deviate from it; they can't look "in-between" and connect the dots. If you really want to see how close THOSE people go by THE script, engage them about why THEY think MTG announced resignation. I guarantee you they'll dance it.

Commented on ICE CapadesJohn: I met Tom well over a decade ago, and asked him to contribute to beaufortcountynow.com , which he has done, and I have noticed that the more Tom found his seasoned voice, the more he became Progressive, and now, this ICE post is rather more Leftist than most; due to its serious nature of being a constitutional imperative, one that is rooted in our basic sovereignty as a Constitutional Republic.
I like Tom Campbell well enough as a Liberal; but, I spare him no quarter on this incredibly important issue of do we remain a Nation of Laws or not.

Commented on ICE CapadesWhat we should be outraged at, Tom Campbell, is the treasonous Biden regime allowing illegal aliens to flood our country by not enforcing our immigration laws. All of those in that corrupt administration who were responsible for not enforcing our immigration laws should be jailed. Now, we need to demand that our scofflaw state officials join in the task of getting these invaders out of our country and back where they belong. And it would be nice to put useful idiots like Comrade Campbell on the plane with them.

Commented on ICE CapadesThere are lots of honest people who come into our country through proper immigration channels. They file the proper paperwork, get a thorough background check and a thorough medical examination, obtain an American sponsor to assure us they will not become a burden on the taxpayers, and they come legally. Then there are the dishonest scoundrels who just sneak in and often become parasites on our welfare system and our medical system. These are arrogant lawbreakers who thumb their noses at our immigration laws. If we need more immigrants, they should come from waiting lists of those doing it the right way instead of arrogant and entitled border jumpers. Those who pander to the border jumping illegal aliens like Tom Campbell only deserve our scorn. Real immigrants, who do it the right way, make good citizens. Those who break the law to invade our country would not think twice about breaking other laws here, and we do NOT need them, PERIOD.

Commented on As the screws turnTrump Derangement Syndrome is strong with this one. or is this another loony left attempt at humor, like the Babylon Bee? The economy barely survived the socialist policies of the Biden regime, and Trump is just now getting the ship righted. The runaway debt of the Democrats still plagues our economy as well as their idiotic climate crusade that has driven up our electric rates and other energy prices. Driving up energy prices, as the Democrat climate obsession does, drives up the cost of everything.
The Democrats silly shutdown to demand trillions more in spending tells us where they stand. They want to continue to wreck our economy. We need to send all the Democrats we can packing next year.
