Harris is off campaigning being a glorified VP who has done nothing for this country or the citizens in this country! the bottom line they could care less about US citizens! Biden / Harris Administration has their nose everywhere it should not be! they should worry about the United States and the people in this country and that is the last thing they worry about! The Biden/Harris Administration is being paid by US tax dollars to do a job for our citizens but they have neglected to do so for almost 4 years! they need to be fired!

May I add a hearty "Amen" to what you wrote...and added: Another thing about Hood that I have come to learn over the last few years working with him on the Beaufort Observer is this: He is the most principled government official I have ever known personally. I have seen him work through political issues and the distinguishing characteristics that come through are honor and integrity. I can honestly say I have never known him to be dishonest in word or deed...and I think that says alot about a political figure who has been "tested by fire." Finally, a word to those who are tempted to misunderstand Hood's "personality," I've found it instructive of him when I saw how he performed when he chaired the interim Hospital Board. He was a totally different persona than he has been as a minority member of the BOC. He is truly a "leader for all seasons." Hood's brilliance and commitment to honesty has served Beaufort County well and I am proud to call him "friend."

It failed to mention that the other 2 voted to close Snowden and that one even made the motion to move forward with the closing. Might want to include all the facts next time.

(commented on June 18th, 2025 @ 2:43 am)Hood’s excellent article on the subject of whether or not to close Snowden is another reason Beaufort County is lucky to have him represent them as a commissioner. I want to thank him for that honest and intelligent representation.
I would like to add that I believe Beaufort County needs smaller community schools, especially in grades 1-8, because more parent involvement is needed. Communities become stronger when that happens.

They should have stories read to them about Betsy Ross, George Washington and other Colonial heroes who gave us our freedom documents. It’s important that they don’t get indoctrinated with Drag Queen story time.
After Kindergarten they should begin learning about those freedom documents that made America great until anti freedom politicians gained control of government and education. But ithat is just what has happened and it became possible because evil doers in government and education established an educational system that kept their future voters ignorant of government of, by and for the people.
A good foundation of learning to love freedom and a free country must begin in kindergarten when young minds and hearts absorb so much of what is taught whether good or evil..

She is truly a one in a million, but the world needs more people like Diane.

We were outrageous costumes, if you catch my drift, and came in 2nd Place. Frogs, our other idea, came in third. Also as per FERPA laws even children over 16 are minors until they graduate. The police did not want to get involved because yes the students were stupid but most of them left when the few decided to get crazy. Restitution is being made for damages and most of the kids have offered to volunteer their time. Punishment has been given. My thoughts( I know you don’t like outside thoughts on here unless they agree with you) however my thoughts are hopefully they have learned their lessons and they or future seniors will realize it was wrong. I’m sure most of you have done stupid things in your life. Leave it to the authorities.

We should all take a page out of her book. She will most certainly be missed here in this plane but she is resting peacefully beyond the sunset.
Rest easy, Miss Diane.

What I see in the Republican Party are some wonderful volunteers who work hard and have the best interests of the County and Country in mind. The Hate is not coming from the Party but from the PAC. What I saw was fraudulent negative signs and banners all over the County. I see a Commissioner name calling and disrupting meetings. That doesn’t make him correct or honest. That just makes him loud and obnoxious.,

(commented on June 9th, 2024 @ 4:04 pm)From the start, I refused to get the Covid-19 vaccination because I have never gotten a flu vaccination because I don't want to mess with my immune system. I was mocked and labeled a right wing MAGA conspiracy theorist and lost friends who shunned me.
I started to read everything I could get my hands on. I read medical and scientific journal reports, geopolitical articles, economic reports, policy reports, testimonials etc. I have always been a progressive liberal but I started to see that something had happened to the left where they had become compromised and became supporters of the establishment and supported restriction on free speech and in favor of censorship to supposedly protect us from misinformation that I just knew was not. And a whole new World had manifested that turned my world upside down. It was so disorienting and painful for me. I couldn't even get people to engage in discussion with me partly because people were totally unaware of what was happening.

It’s frankly embarrassing- people complain about Washington being over run with retirees when the fact of the matter is - who would move here with school age children. A jury of ordinary people both attys picked rendered a verdict saying he was guilty of election fraud. Trump always says he's innocent, has never ever done anything wrong nor has he "ever" done anything to apologize for in his life, really? He cheated on 3 wives!
I don't believe Biden was behind any of it as he didn't want to be blamed because he knew Trump would call foul & he did anyway. We all know Trump lies about everything. I've resigned from the Republican Party because of Trump. He is damaging our country & his party. Trump says he's innocent of any and all crimes yet he admitted to taking boxes & boxes of Top Secret documents then refused to give them back for 18 mos. The FBI coordinated w/ his secret service AND attorneys of a legal search warrant to take the documents back. Trump was in NJ & was not even in FL when that happened.
