Hood’s excellent article on the subject of whether or not to close Snowden is another reason Beaufort County is lucky to have him represent them as a commissioner. I want to thank him for that honest and intelligent representation.
I would like to add that I believe Beaufort County needs smaller community schools, especially in grades 1-8, because more parent involvement is needed. Communities become stronger when that happens.

Kindergarten children need to memorize traditional patriotic songs and the pledge of allegiance. They should have stories read to them about Betsy Ross, George Washington and other Colonial heroes who gave us our freedom documents. It’s important that they don’t get indoctrinated with Drag Queen story time.
After Kindergarten they should begin learning about those freedom documents that made America great until anti freedom politicians gained control of government and education. But ithat is just what has happened and it became possible because evil doers in government and education established an educational system that kept their future voters ignorant of government of, by and for the people.
A good foundation of learning to love freedom and a free country must begin in kindergarten when young minds and hearts absorb so much of what is taught whether good or evil..

First off Stan the school may cost 52 million but 42 million is coming from lottery money. Also as per FERPA laws even children over 16 are minors until they graduate. The police did not want to get involved because yes the students were stupid but most of them left when the few decided to get crazy. Restitution is being made for damages and most of the kids have offered to volunteer their time. Punishment has been given. My thoughts( I know you don’t like outside thoughts on here unless they agree with you) however my thoughts are hopefully they have learned their lessons and they or future seniors will realize it was wrong. I’m sure most of you have done stupid things in your life. Leave it to the authorities.

Miss Diane was a sweet lady, a beautiful soul and a devoted patriot that saw the best in everyone. We lovingly called her our "Sarah Conner" for her courageous fight against cancer.

We should all take a page out of her book. She will most certainly be missed here in this plane but she is resting peacefully beyond the sunset.

Van Zant, I am just a voter in Beaufort County who observes what is going on from the outside. What I see in the Republican Party are some wonderful volunteers who work hard and have the best interests of the County and Country in mind. The Hate is not coming from the Party but from the PAC. What I saw was fraudulent negative signs and banners all over the County. I see a Commissioner name calling and disrupting meetings. That doesn’t make him correct or honest. From the start, I refused to get the Covid-19 vaccination because I have never gotten a flu vaccination because I don't want to mess with my immune system. I was mocked and labeled a right wing MAGA conspiracy theorist and lost friends who shunned me.
I started to read everything I could get my hands on. I read medical and scientific journal reports, geopolitical articles, economic reports, policy reports, testimonials etc. I have always been a progressive liberal but I started to see that something had happened to the left where they had become compromised and became supporters of the establishment and supported restriction on free speech and in favor of censorship to supposedly protect us from misinformation that I just knew was not. And a whole new World had manifested that turned my world upside down. It was so disorienting and painful for me. I couldn't even get people to engage in discussion with me partly because people were totally unaware of what was happening.

Just attended one of these meetings tonight. I am truly concerned with threats to ‘democracy,’ meaning fair elections and constitutional rule, but mostly from the left. This meeting was purely an anti-Trump rally, and the judge said as much when I asked, and I barely escaped without being yelled at by more than a couple people. NARA has made clear that there is "no history, practice, or provision in law for presidents to take official records with them when they leave office."
Trump should have known at least the basics of the PRA. Nevertheless, he held onto boxes of classified documents rather than turn them over to NARA.That alone would have would have been a violation of the PRA and other laws — but what he did was even worse.
Trump kept highly classified documents about military and nuclear capabilities of foreign countries and US military contingency plans in truly absurd places at Mar-a-Lago. Then he showed them to civilians without security clearances, while indicating that he knew he wasn’t allowed to. When the DOJ subpoenaed him Trump indicated to his lawyers that he wanted to cover up his possession of the documents. An action such as this had never been done before--an FBI raid on a former President.Trump had ample opportunity to return documents belonging to the National Archives.He returned a selective few on two occasions but never returned all.
