    Mr. Stephen Adam Waters, Sr., age 73, a former resident of Waterford Place, died Friday, January 3, 2014 at Clara Manor in Washington.

    Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, January 5, 2014 from the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington, conducted by Steve Hill and Mark Lilley. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens.

    The following will serve as pallbearers: Stacy Pippin, Ed Pippin, Wayne Waters, Timmy Waters, Tony Waters, Stan Roberson and Tyler Waters.

    Mr. Waters was born in Pinetown on November 16, 1940. He was the son of the late Charlie Evans Waters and Margie Gray Waters. Mr. Waters was a retired heavy equipment operator. He loved being out on the water and fishing as long as his health permitted.

    Mr. Waters is survived by his son, Adam Waters II and his wife, Vicki of Washington; his grandson, Evan McCotter Waters of Washington; his brother, Phillip Waters and his wife, Faye of Pinetown; and his sister, Donna Pippin and her husband, Don of Williamston.

    In addition to his parents, Mr. Waters was preceded in death by a son, Jonathan Parrish Waters and a daughter, Elizabeth Gray Waters.

    The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM Sunday prior to the service at Paul Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Adam and Vicki Waters, 227 Hillingdale Drive, Washington.
