    Raleigh, NC     The Office of Governor Pat McCrory announced the following appointments today:

    North Carolina Courts Commission

   •  Richard Dietz (Forsyth County) - Dietz is a partner at Kilpatrick Townsend and Stockton LLP. He is on the appellate rules committee for the North Carolina Bar Association.

   •  Representative Timothy Moore (Cleveland County) - Moore is a member of the North Carolina House of Representatives, representing District 111. He is also an attorney.

   •  Senator Warren Daniel (Burke County) - Daniel is a senator in the North Carolina Senate, representing District 46. He is also an attorney.

   •  Tanner Robinson (Forsyth County) - Robinson is the director of investments, Hunter/Robinson Group for Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. Previously, he was a financial advisor with Bank of America and Merrill Lynch.

    The commission continuously studies the structure, organization, jurisdiction, procedures and personnel of the Judicial Department and the General Court of Justice. It also makes recommendations to the General Assembly to facilitate the administration of justice. The term length is four years.

    North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission

    Lucas Armena (Henderon County) - Armena is pursuing a master of science in emergency management and business continuity at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. He is a board member of the Young Professionals of Asheville,a program of the Asheville Chamber of Comemrce.

    The commission facilitates the settlement of superior court civil actions and makes civil litigation more economical, efficient and satisfactory. The term length is three years.

    North Carolina Child Fatality Task Force

    Donna Fayko (Rowan County) - Fayko is the director of the Rowan County Department of Social Services. Previously, she served as deputy director of the DSS Youth and Family Services.

    The task force conducts a statistical study of the incidences and causes of child deaths in the state and establishes a profile of child deaths, among other duties. The term length is two years.

    North Carolina Human Trafficking Commission

   •  David Elliott (Wake County) - Elliott is the director of Victims and Citizen Services for the North Carolina Department of Justice. He previously served as assistant attorney general for North Carolina.

   •  Jennifer Haigwood (Wake County) - Haigwood is the director of Administration and Governmental Affairs for the N.C. Department of Labor. She has a bachelor of arts in psychology.

    Sarah Tellis (Craven County) - Tellis is the founder and executive director of the Pearl Ministry, an international anti-trafficking organization. She has been active in national and international medical missions for the past 15 years.

    David Huffman (Catawba County) - Huffman is the executive director of the Governor's Crime Commission. Prior to this, Huffman he served as Catawba County's Sheriff for 28 years.

    The commission applies and receives funding from federal, public or private initiatives, grant programs or donors that will assist in examining and countering the problem of human trafficking in North Carolina. It also educates the general public, law officials and others about human trafficking. The term length is two years.
