Born: July 09, 1921, Died: February 28, 2014

    Mr. J.L. "Jimmy" Carrington, age 92, a resident of Chocowinity, died February 28, 2014.

    A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday March 2, 2014 at Ephesus Free Will Baptist Church officiated by Pastors Melvin Haas, Steve Atkins and James L. Carrington. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens. His grandsons: Dylan Tripp, Dalhton O'Neal, Jarrett O'Neal, Justin Harris, Josh Harris, Jared Futrell and Chris Forrest will serve as pallbearers.

    The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 PM on Saturday at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington and other times at the home.

    Mr. Carrington was born on July 9, 1921, son of the late Luther H. Carrington and Mollie Franklin Carrington. On June 27, 1976, he married the former Jacquelyn Toler who survives. He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Carrington was a farmer, served on the Board of Beaufort County Farm Bureau and was past President of Chocowinity Ruritan Club. He was a member of Ephesus Free Will Baptist Church and was a former Sunday School Teacher.

    In addition to his wife, Jacquelyn of the home, he is survived by his sons: James L. Carrington and wife Judy of Burns, TN and Jeffrey Harris and wife Karin of Chocowinity, NC; his daughters: Brenda Tripp and husband Curtis of Blounts Creek; Debra Clark and husband Steve of Chocowinity, Lisa Forrest and husband Cliff of Mason, OH and Lynn Futrell and husband Joseph of Chocowinity; 16 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, James E. Ward; his daughter, Jo Ann Norman; his sister, Madeline Blake and his brother, Odell Carrington.

    Flowers are welcomed or memorials may be made to Ephesus Free Will Baptist Church, 2685 Ephesus Church Road, Blounts Creek, NC 27814.
