    Ms. Alice Sheppard, age 90, a resident of Washington, NC died Tuesday March 18, 2014 at Ridgewood Manor Nursing Center.

    The family will receive friends 6 PM to 8 PM Thursday March 20, 2014 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.

    Ms. Sheppard was born in Beaufort County on August 15, 1923 daughter of the late Winfield Sheppard and the late Courtney Woolard Sheppard. She was a homemaker and helped in many capacities on community and neighbor's farms. Ms. Sheppard was a member of Beaver Dam Church of Christ and was very active in the Bunyan Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

    Survivors include a niece: Judy Everette of Blounts Creek; and nephews: Ray, Ronald and William Alligood, Glenn, Jerry, Steve and George Sheppard all of Washington. Ms. Sheppard was predeceased by a sister: Sallie Alligood and three brothers: Wilbert Sheppard, Jamie Sheppard and Jayhue Sheppard.

    In lieu of flowers the family requests for memorial contributions to be made to Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center, c/o Patient Assistance Fund, 1209 Brown Street, Washington, NC 27889.
