    Mr. John Roy Foster Jr. (Roy Jr.), age 61, a resident of 1210 Old Pamlico Beach Rd. W., Belhaven, died Friday April 11, 2014 at his home.

    A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday April 13, 2014 at the end of the Wilkins Road in Belhaven, officiated by Rev. Medford Hopkins. The family will receive friends following the service and other times at the home.

    Mr. Foster was born in Beaufort County on May 21, 1952. He was the son of the late John Roy Foster Sr. and Myrtle Lucille Foster Garris and step-son to Billy Garris who survives. He worked as a commercial fisherman for 48 years. On March 12, 1985 he married Tamra Starr Stotesbury who survives.

    Survivors include Tamra S. Foster of the home, two sons, Eddie T. Foster and wife Debbie of Pamlico Beach, Roy Leon Foster of the home, one step son, J.D. Stotesbury and wife Tiffany of Richlands, two daughters, Susan Louise Foster of Georgia and Lucille Foster Myers and husband James A. Myers of Fort Knox, KY, 10 grandchildren, Brittany N. Foster, Christian T. Foster, Trisha Boatright, Levi Boatright, Melanie Stotesbury, Joey Stotesbury, Trinity S. Myers, James A. Myers, Kaleb J. Myers, and one great granddaughter, Layla N. Story.

    In addition to his father, Mr. Foster was preceded in death by a brother, Eddie Thomas Foster and a sister, Patsy Ann Foster Fulford.

    In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center, Patient Assistance Fund, 1209 Brown Street, Washington, NC 27889.
