Dr. Carolyn Davis Trumpler, | Eastern NC Now

    Dr. Carolyn Davis Trumpler, age 73, a resident of NC Hwy 99 S., Belhaven, went home Saturday, April 19, 2014 at her home.

    There will be a Homegoing Service at 1:00 PM, Saturday, April 26, at Holly Grove Disciples of Christ Church, officiated by Elder Dr. Johnson Hazel. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Adrien Trumpler, Jr., Adrien Trumpler, III, Darnell James Thomas, Teyvon Bussey, Angel Tyson, and Gary Ross will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Friday, April 25 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Hillside Funeral Service, 4500 Hwy 264 E., Washington, NC and other times at the home.

    Dr. Trumpler was born July 20, 1940 in Brooklyn, NY daughter of the late McLester Davis and Johnnie Bonner Davis. She graduated from Grace Dodge High School and on November 8, 1958 married Adrien James Trumpler, Sr. who survives. Dr. Trumpler received an associates degree from Bronx Community College and received her bachelors degree from Mercy College. She also attended Long Island University where she received her PHD, Master of Doctrine. Dr. Trumpler was employed with Morningside Home, Kings Harbor, Guild of the Aged and Blind, Morningside House, Cool Risk Management, Workmens Circle Home, Lincoln Hospital, Laconia Nursing Home, United Oddfellow Nursing Home as Director of Nursing where she retired in 2006. She volunteered with Beaufort County Long Term Recovery Disaster Assistance Program and was a mother of Holly Grove Church. She had made her home in Belhaven since 1988.

    In addition to her husband, Adrien James Trumpler, Sr., Mrs. Trumpler is survived by her daughter, Stefanie Trumpler of Bronx, NY; her son, Adrien A. Trumpler, Jr. of Mt. Vernon, NY; her daughter-in-law, Monica Trumpler of New Rochelle, NY; her brothers, Mark Davis of Albany, NY, Brian Davis of Washington, DC, and Lonnie Davis of California; her sisters, Lolita Ali of Manhattan, NY, Jackie Davis of Long Island, NY, Lorraine Moore of Jamesville, NC and Yvonne Carter of Dover, DE; her grandchildren, Tiela, Ebony, Ashley, Teyvon, Adrien, III, Darnell and Avery; her great grandchild Isaiah and one great grandchild on the way; and a host of nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins and friends.
