Audrey Windley Edmondson, age 96, a resident of Kill Devil Hills and formerly of Bayview, passed away Monday, June 9, 2014.

    Audrey Windley Edmondson, age 96, a resident of Kill Devil Hills and formerly of Bayview, passed away Monday, June 9, 2014. There will be a celebration of her life at 11:00 am, Thursday, June 12, at Bath Christian Church, officiated by Pastor Curtis White. Burial will be private. Don Edmondson, Jr., Tim Edmondson, Ike Riddick, Jr., Wayne Wisner, Tim Edmondson, Jr., Michael Elliott, Matt Riddick, Hunter Riddick and Bennett Montgomery will serve as pallbearers. Jack Wallace, Dick Adams, Bill Slade, John Radcliff, Rodney Bowers, Harold Ormond, Jr., Bubs Carson and Major Garrish will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall.

    Mrs. Edmondson was born September 28, 1917 in Beaufort County, daughter of the late John and Myrtle Jackson Windley. On January 19, 1936 she married Maurice Ormond Edmondson who preceded her in death on November 19, 1992. She retired as librarian for the Bath Community Library. Mrs. Edmondson was a member of Bath Christian Church, charter member of the Bath Garden Club, and former president of Circle #2 and the CFW.

    Mrs. Edmondson is survived by her daughter, Marie E. Riddick and husband Ike Riddick of Warsaw; her sons, Maurice P. Edmondson of Manteo and Don Edmondson of Columbia; her grandchildren, Don, Jr., and Tim Edmondson, Wayne Wisner, Lynn Elliott, Carol Edmondson, Ike Riddick, Jr. and Suzanne R. Montgomery; and her great-grandchildren, Brooke Elliott, Michael Elliott, Tim Edmondson, Jr., Alexis Wisner, Matt Riddick, Hunter Riddick, Cameron Riddick, Grayson Montgomery and Bennett Montgomery.

    In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Aubert and Alton Windley; and her sisters, Rosa W. Mason, Gladys W. Keech and Johnie W. Shaw.

    In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials in Audrey's memory be made to Bath Christian Church, 107 S. Harding St., Bath, NC 27808.
