    Mr. Michael Wayne Moore, age 45, a resident of 304 Jones Avenue, Blounts Creek, died Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Vidant Beaufort Hospital.

    A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, July 31, 2014 at New Life Pentecostal Holiness Church, Old Bath Highway, Washington, conducted by Pastor Jerry Stroh.

    Michael was born in Pitt County on October 18, 1968. He was the son of Virginia Keech Cooper and William G. Cooper. Michael was a former electrician with Willis Electric. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Michael loved his dog, Blitz.

    Mr. Moore is survived by his loving and best friend, Cassandra Jones of the home; his parents, Virginia and William Cooper of Washington; brother, Robbie Johnson of Cabot, Arkansas; three sisters, Emily Parker and Tammie Johnson both of Washington, Lisa Bargelt and husband, Leo of Washington; two step brothers, Bobby Cooper of St. Louis, Mo., Delbert Cooper of Greenville; step sister, Georgia Scherer and husband, Jeff of Washington; his second mom and dad, Gloria and Larry Jones of Blounts Creek; their son, Lang Jones of Newport, N.C. and his son, Stephen Jones of Jacksonville, N.C. and many nieces and nephews.

    The family will receive friends following the service at the church and other times at the home of his parents, Virginia and William Cooper, 110 Iron Creek Common, Washington and his second mom and dad, Gloria and Larry Jones, 189 Jones Avenue, Blounts Creek.
