    Good Monday Morning Everyone:

    Lots of rain and a few strong Thunderstorms possible today and tomorrow. Please advise all our fellow employees to follow common sense when water stands across the roadway in front of them: “Turn Around and don’t Drown”.

    This hazardous weather outlook is for eastern North Carolina.

    Day one...today and tonight.

    Widespread showers and a few thunderstorms with torrential downpours will develop across eastern North Carolina through tonight as low pressure develops along a front stalled just to the south of the area through tonight. As a result minor flooding will be possible for low lying and poor drainage areas.

    Days two through seven ... Saturday through THursday.
    Low pressure will lift northeast along the stalled front Tuesday and Tuesday night. Numerous showers and a few thunderstorms are expected to continue over the area through Tuesday night continuing the threat for minor flooding in low lying and poor drainage areas.

    It is possible we could see two plus inches of rain between now and midnight Tuesday. Take care, but please provide a precautionary statement to all county personnel and first responders to stay, “Weather Aware” for the next 36 hours. We have to arrive safely to assist our fellow citizens and neighbors with their problems or emergencies.
