Obituary: Mary L. Shaw | Eastern NC Now

    Mrs. Mary L. Shaw, age 89, a resident of 120 Lilley Road, Washington, died Thursday evening, June 9, 2011, at her home.A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 12, 2011, at Oakdale Cemetery officiated by Dr. Michael Price.

    Mrs. Shaw was born in Reading, Pa., March 15, 1922, daughter of the late Frank Leininger and Nora Auchenbach Leininger. She was a 1939 graduate of Mohnton High School in Pennsylvania. On June 6, 1964, she married Lyndon Young Shaw who preceded her in death on May 6, 1976. She worked for many years as a cashier at King Chicken. Mrs. Shaw was an active member of the First Christian Church in Washington and the Senior Citizens Group. She loved to watch basketball games on television.

    Mrs. Shaw is preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters: Lillian and Mererva Leininger and her brother: William Leininger.

     Visitation will be held from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, June 11, 2011, at Paul Funeral Home in Washington.
