Ruth Ann Gurley | Eastern NC Now

    Mrs. Ruth Ann Kilby Gurley, age 69, a resident of the Bayview Community of Bath, NC died Sunday November 23, 2014 at the home of her mother.

    A graveside funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday November 25, 2014 at the Bayview Community Cemetery officiated by Pastor Gregg Hornbuckle.

    The family will receive friends 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at Bayview Community Church and other times at the home of Mrs. Gurley's mother Ruth Kilby located at 64 Clarendon Ave. Bath, NC.

    Mrs. Gurley was born in Norfolk, VA on April 23, 1945 daughter of the late Rufus William Kilby and Ruth Evelyn Albertson Kilby who survives. She was very dedicated to her family and served them as a homemaker. Mrs. Gurley was a member of Bayview Community Church.

    Surviving along with Mrs. Gurley's mother Ruth Kilby of Bath is a son: Louis Ray Gurley of Washington; two brothers: Ronnie Kilby and Rufus Kelby both of Bath; a sister: Retha Furlough of Roper; a daughter in law: Ellen Manning Gurley of Chocowinity and two grandsons: Michael Gurley of Greenville and Joshua Gurley of Grimesland. Mrs. Gurley was predeceased by two sons: Billy Ray Gurley and Jimmy Wayne Gurley.
