    Hyacinth Rowe Lewis passed peacefully on November 25, 2014 at Waldrop Personal Care in Cartersville, GA. at the age of 92.

    Hyacinth is survived by her daughter Phyllis Coble and grandson Jacob Coble of Dallas, GA, her nieces Susan Lee (husband, Dell Lee) of Arapahoe, NC, Mary Lou Alligood (husband, Glen Alligood) of Washington, NC and Jill Nabahaus (husband John Nabahaus) of Washington, NC as well as several grandnieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Lillian Rowe, Lucille Rowe Parker and Vernon Rowe.

    Hyacinth was born January 9, 1922 in Small, NC to Susan Cayton Rowe and Henry C. Rowe. She married Phillip A. Cratch in 1946. He passed away that same year. She remarried Finley G. Lewis in 1968. He passed in 1992. She worked for Bower Motor Company as a Secretary and the bank in Aurora, NC as a Teller for a number of years.

    She was an avid gardener who took pride in having what was boasted to be the prettiest yard in the whole town. Hyacinth was a generous individual who loved and cared for her family. As an active and dedicated member of Mary's Chapel Christian Church, she served as Secretary and Treasurer as well as Treasurer for Ladies Aid.

    A funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, November 29 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory. Reverend Robert Clayton will officiate the ceremony. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery in Washington, NC. Family will receive visitors prior to the service. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Hyacinth's life. Flowers are appreciated and donations may be made to Mary's Chapel Christian Church or the Alzheimer's Association. The family would like to thank Hyacinth's wonderful caregivers, Gladys Wright, Essie Davis, Carole Davis and Georgia Taylor, for their compassion and care.
