    Mrs. Carol Ann Prentiss Ulrichs, age 67, a resident of 123 Hillside Drive, Washington, NC died Thursday January 29, 2015 at her home.

    It was Mrs. Ulrichs' wishes were for no services to be held.

    Mrs. Ulrichs was born in Oakland, CA on June 18, 1947 daughter of the late Edward Seifert Prentiss and the late Thelma Gusta Olsen Prentiss. She was a graduate of Arcadia High School in Arcadia, CA and continued her education at San Jose State University. On August 30, 1997 she married Jack Ulrichs who survives. Mrs. Ulrichs enjoyed shaping young minds as an elementary teacher. She endured a fifteen year battle with cancer with dignity and grace. She was a member of Zion Episcopal Church of Washington.

    Surviving along with her husband Jack of the home is a daughter: Tyler Townsend of New York City, NY; four sons: Peter Townsend of Mexico, Paul Townsend and his wife Paige of New Port, CA, Clement Ulrichs and his wife Alice of Richmond, VA and Kanus Ulrichs and his wife Jessica of Norfolk, VA; a sister: Pamela E. Prentiss-Trocki and her husband Tony of Vista, CA and seven grandchildren: Parker Townsend, Heidi Ulrichs, Nick Ulrichs, Steve Ulrichs, Wolfgang Ulrichs, Poppy Ulrichs and Conrad Ulrichs.

    In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks for memorial contributions to be made to Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center Foundation, 1209 Brown Street, Washington, NC 27889.
