    Mrs. Carolyn Eva Lowe Merrill, age 82, a resident of 18932 Hwy. 264 East, Bath, died Monday, March 2, 2015 at Cross Creek Health Care Center in Swan Quarter.

    A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 7th at the J. A. Wilkinson Center officiated by Danny Smith.

    Carolyn was born in Springfield, Ohio on November 30, 1932, daughter of the late William T. Lowe and the late Lillian M. Jones Lowe. She was a 1952 graduate of North Lewisburg High School in North Lewisburg, Ohio. Carolyn also attended nursing school in Columbus, Ohio, where she met her future husband a young man in the USAF Rodney Merrill. The two of them were married for 58 years.

    Carolyn was a nurse at Pungo District Hospital in Belhaven for many years. As one of Jehovah's Witnesses she dearly loved helping people.

    Surviving along with her husband, Rodney, are three children: Sheri Baack and her husband Randy of Temecula, California, Karen Benz and her husband Mike, of Kitty Hawk, NC, Rodney Merrill and his wife Jacqueline of Yorktown, Virginia; three grandchildren: Matthew Landers, Brittany Ezsol and Sydney Landers; four great grandchildren: Audric Landers, Emma Ezsol, Petra Landers and Aria Ezsol. Carolyn is also survived by her twin brother Carl Lowe, brother Robert Lowe, brother Frank Lowe, brother Charles Johns, sister Edna Price, and sister Rebecca Johns.
