    Ms. Carol Ann Condon Newman, age 68, a resident of 504 Northwood Road, Washington, passed away peacefully at her home, Friday, March 13, 2015.

    Ms. Newman was born August 21, 1946 to the late Albert and Rita Henderson Condon. She was a librarian with the Brown Library for many years and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She had a big heart, was very sympathetic, always putting others first and helped many people over the years.

    Survivors include one daughter, Tara Schafer and husband Shay of Washington, one son, David Andrew Newman and wife Myra of Chocowinity and five grandchildren, Allison Schafer, Michael Lewis, Nathaniel Newman, Jadyn Schafer and Natalie Newman. She was preceded in death by one sister.

    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center, c/o Patience Assistance Fund, 1209 Brown Street, Washington, NC 27889.

    The family will receive friends from 6:30 pm until 7:30 pm Monday, March 16, 2015 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home.
