Miguel Raul Renteria and Stoney Lyn Berry Apprehended | Eastern NC Now

PRESS RELEASE

    On June 26, 2011, at approximately 9:10 p.m., deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office responded to an assault call in the 3000 block of Highway 33 West in Grimesland, NC. While speaking to the victim of the assault, the Sheriff’s Office received a call about a break-in that recently occurred at a residence nearby. Deputies responded to the break-in and learned that the homeowner came home and discovered two suspects exiting her home. The homeowner reported that she assaulted the suspects as they fled from her residence. Deputies began an investigation and conducted interviews. The victim of the assault was identified as the suspect in the break-in.

    As a result of information collected during the investigation, Sgt. Jeremy Landeck arrested Miguel Raul Renteria, age 19, of West Barr Road in Chocowinity and Stoney Lyn Berry, age 19, of Highway 33 West in Grimesland and charged them with Second Degree Burglary. Berry was also charged with Driving While License Revoked. They were each held in the Beaufort County Detention Center on a $7,500 secured bond.
