Helen D. Rowe | Eastern NC Now

    Helen D. Rowe, age 82, a resident of Washington, NC passed away at her residence on Tuesday, March 24, 2015. Mrs. Rowe was born in Beaufort County, NC on April 16, 1932 to the late Jesse and Catherine Dixon.

    She attended Beaufort County Schools. On November 18, 1948 she married Billy Ray Rowe who predeceased her in 2007. She is survived by her children, Linda Rowe Horton of Ayden, NC, Billie Allen Rowe of Washington, NC and Catherine "Cathy" Rowe Smith of Ayden, NC; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and special friend, Henry Ward, Sr. of Middlesex, NJ.

    She was also predeceased by her daughters, Brenda Rowe Tyer and Ealine Rowe; brother, Sherwood Dixon; and sister, Georgia Grizzard.

    Mrs. Rowe was President of Middlesex Boro Floorwaxers and retired in 1976. She was also a home engineer.

    A celebration of her life will be held at Wesleyan Pentecostal Holiness Church, Highway 264 West, Washington, NC at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2015. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. Aaron Ward, Alex Rowe, Emily Rowe, Amanda Ristow, Sam Ristow and Henry Ward, Sr. will serve as pallbearers. The service will be officiated by Pastor Daniel Woods. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 27, 2015 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Hillside Funeral Service & Cremations and other times at the home.
