Press Release:

Raleigh, N.C. — Governor Pat McCrory has been re-appointed to the Executive Committee of the National Governors Association.

"I'm honored to have the confidence of my fellow governors to serve on this important committee," Governor McCrory said. "The states are more than the laboratories of democracy. The states are now the level of government where things are getting done for the people, and there's no better example of that than the economic comeback that's occurring in North Carolina."

The nine-member Executive Committee supervises the association's operations and has general authority over all policy issues. It also has primary jurisdiction over issues involving federalism, homeland security, the federal budget, and federal tax policy.

Governor McCrory was also selected to serve on the Economic Development and Commerce Committee. The appointments came this weekend at the association's summer meeting held at White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.

The National Governors Association is a respected bipartisan forum for governors to exchange views and share best practices. The association also identifies priority issues and develops positions and strategies to influence critical federal policies.
