    GREENVILLE, N.C.     Experience culture in Uptown Greenville this Friday, October 2, from 5-8pm for the October First Friday ArtWalk.

    The Greenville Museum of Art will feature a new exhibition-An Altruistic Attitude-a solo exhibition by William Kurucz, BFA Candidate in Printmaking. The exhibition will kick off Friday October 2 with an opening reception from 5-8pm in the upstairs galleries.

    Crave Greenville Restaurant and Bar will host the first in a series of First Friday Variety Dances on Friday, October 2, from 7-9pm. Learn how to Polka dance with lessons by Dawn and music by DJ Ramon. Participants do not need to have a partner and no prior experience is necessary. All are welcome to dance the night away for a $5 instruction fee!

    The Pitt County Arts Council at Emerge will feature Rebel 58, an exhibition of East Carolina University Student artwork in a variety of mediums to be located in the Don Edwards and Harvey Wooten Galleries. The exhibition will kick off with a reception from 5-8pm. As a sponsor of the First Friday ArtWalk, Coastal Beverage Company will feature the following beers and wines: Devil's Backbone Vienna Lager, Devil's Backbone 8 Point IPA, Devil's Backbone Gold Leaf Lager, Contempo Pinot Grigio, and Chardonnay.

    Art Avenue will spotlight a special exhibition called Monsters Under the Bed-an exhibition that encourages artists to submit works that express the artist's personal monster. The exhibition is open to all artists and consists of a variety of pieces. An opening reception will be held from 5-8pm.

    Truly Yours, a women's clothing boutique that prides itself in offering the latest fashions for women, will open its doors for the first time on Friday, October 2, at 403 South Evans Street in Uptown Greenville. President and General Manager of Truly Yours, Erin Barfield, is a Greenville native, graduate of the Merchandising Program at East Carolina University, and winner of the Uptown Retail Challenge.

    Uptown Art Supply & Gallery will feature a photography exhibition by Layden Pearce showcasing her summer travels in Israel. Complimentary food and beverages will be provided that are popular from Israeli regions.
