They say that some of the best exercise you can get is riding a bicycle. It helps to burn calories as well as provide cardio vascular conditioning. I'm told that you should always ride with a group of friends. It helps to break the monotony.
I recently had a friend post about his trip to Asheville N.C. Well, there is a business there that may have the answer to losing weight and getting exercise. It is called The Amazing Pub Cycle.
In order to lose weight, the Mayo clinic suggests burning 500 calories more per day than you consume.
On average, beer contains about 180 calories per pint. So five beers would be 900 calories. Let's say your food intake is 2000 calories per day. Total calories for this case would be 2900 calories so you would gave to burn 3400 calories to offset the beer and food.
Riding a bike at moderate effort (10-12 MPH) for a 180 lb. cyclist would burn about 327 calories per hour. At 12 miles per hour that would mean you would have to pedal roughly 10 1/2 hours to burn 3400 calories. Cycling Calorie Calculator.
You would then be 126 miles away.
After doing the math, I have a question.. Who in the Hell only drinks five beers in 10 1/2 hours?
