 Mr. Donald John Gustafson, formerly of River Vale, New Jersey, died at his home in Washington, North Carolina on October 23, 2015 at the age of 85.

 He was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Signe Gustafson; his brother Harold; his sister Alice Onora and his son David.

 Mr. Gustafson is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Eileen; his son Glenn Gustafson and wife Lisa; daughters Karen Quist and husband Edward, Donna Gustafson and husband Andrew Mitchell, Ellen Birdseye and husband Kelly and Diane Keesser; grandchildren Michael, Kevin, Jennifer, Alex, Kate, Mark and Amber; and great grandchildren, Michaela, Jade, David and Gage who miss him dearly.

 An avid sailor and energetic traveler, Mr. Gustafson was known for his talents in woodworking, his acerbic wit, and his strong will. Before retiring, he was a successful sales representative and business owner dealing in electronic components.

 A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Grace Lutheran Church, 1776 North Market Street, Washington. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
