Jacob A. "J.A." Andrews | Eastern NC Now

    Jacob Alton "J.A." Andrews, age 84, a resident of 5987 Clarks Neck Road, died Saturday February 13, 2016 at Vidant Beaufort Hospital.

    A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday February 17, 2016 at Pamlico Memorial Gardens and will be officiated by George Daniels.

    Mr. Andrews was born in Guilford County on July 8, 1931 to the late Avery Alfred Andrews and Callie Andrews. He was retired from the Washington City Schools and worked in maintenance for many years. Mr. Andrews loved fishing, gardening and most of all he loved his church. He was a member of West End Baptist Church.

    Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Williams of Williamston, Tammy Brown and husband Larry of Washington, two step daughters, Brenda Lee of Washington, Joanna Cooper of Plymouth, two grandchildren, Gabrielle Williams, Brady Andrews, eight great-grandchildren, four brothers, Edward Andrews and wife Retha of Grimesland, Robert Andrews of Washington, Avery Andrews, Jr. and wife Mary of Washington, Terry Andrews and wife Terry of Washington, two sisters, Meriam Newman of Edward, Patricia Cutler and husband Leland of Bath, good friends George Daniels, Kenny Moore and wife Lorie, and a special friend Sarah Latham.

    He is preceded in death by his soulmate Idonia V. Andrews, a brother Thomas Andrews, three sisters, Jaime Andrews, Carolene Martin, and Shirley Andrews.

    The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Tuesday February 16, 2016 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.
