Maurice Lan Ange, 85, was born in Jamesville, N.C., on Feb. 3, 1926, to his parents, Adren and Emma Mizell Ange. He passed away Sept. 10, 2011, at Sentara Princess Anne Hospital after a brief illness.

    Maurice Lan Ange, 85, was born in Jamesville, N.C., on Feb. 3, 1926, to his parents, Adren and Emma Mizell Ange. He passed away Sept. 10, 2011, at Sentara Princess Anne Hospital after a brief illness.

     Maurice was a World War II Marine veteran and a retired Norfolk Police Lieutenant Commander with 39 years of loyal service. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, a 50-year Masonic veteran and a former member of the Lake Wright Golf Association.

    He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Robbie Ward and sister-in-law Gene of Norfolk, Va., his sisters Jacqueline Rogers and brother-in-law Charles of Roanoke, Va., and Aleene Michaud and brother-in-law O’Neil of Springfield, Va.

    He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 65 years Margaret Louise Ange of Va. Beach, his sister Norma Rowe and brother-in-law Allen of Franklin, Va., his goddaughter Theresa Brock Sawyer and her husband Wayne of Va. Beach, his many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, close friends and his beloved 11 year old Montiel, who was a constant companion and the joy of his life.

    A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011, at Laurel Avenue Church of Christ, 1126 Laurel Ave., Chesapeake, Va., by the Rev. Butch Ringwald. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 8100 Granby St., Norfolk, Va. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home Indian River Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

    A special thank you, from the family, to Dr. Wagner and his emergency care staff, Dr. Brent Geissinger, Dr. Cesar Alisonorin and nurse Araceli Soriano of the ICU Department, Kathie Gerber and Laura Schwille for there special loving care, in time of need.
