Government policies in D.C., Raleigh raise energy costs for N.C. consumers

We use energy every time we turn on the lights, fire up the heat or air conditioning, or use our various electronic devices. Government agencies in both the nation's capital and state government have taken steps that inflate the cost of that energy artificially.

Donald Bryson, N.C. state director of Americans for Prosperity, outlined the problem and offered some potential solutions during a presentation Monday for the John Locke Foundation's Shaftesbury Society.

One reason for overly inflated energy costs in North Carolina is a campaign of misinformation from the renewable energy industry. In the video clip above, Bryson highlights a report from the N.C. Department of Environmental Quality that questions the economic benefits tied to renewables.
