Thelma Ann Woolard | Eastern NC Now

    Thelma Ann Woolard, age 62, a resident of Washington, NC died Thursday April 7, 2016 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

    A private graveside service will be held and will be officiated by Mike Caton. Music will be by Jennifer Taylor. Mike Woolard, Rod Rathbun, Carl Kelly Gurganus, Jr., Gregory William Gurganus, Brandon Earl Gurganus, William Gray Gurganus, Joshua Wayne Hardy and Terry Woolard will serve as pallbearers.

    Mrs. Woolard was born in Beaufort County, NC on November 6, 1953 to Milton Gray Woolard and Shirley Marie Woolard who survive. She was a graduate of Bath High School. On March 3, 1989 she married Danny Woolard who survives. She loved the outdoors and working in the yard. Mrs. Woolard was devoted to her family and her church. She was a member of Rosemary Church of Christ. Mrs. Woolard loved to travel and go out to new places to eat. Each year she made sure that each Thanksgiving and Christmas was extra special for her family and went above and beyond to make sure her family had a good time.

    Survivors include her husband Danny Woolard of the home, a son Daniel Curtis Woolard and fiancée Brittany Foster and her daughter Layla Story, four sisters, Juanita Gurganus and husband Kelly of Washington, Sylvia Gurganus and husband Earl of Bath, Emiley Stearns and husband Kevin of Bath, Donna Gray Woolard of Washington and many nieces and nephews.

    In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Rosemary Church of Christ, 5226 Slatestone Road, Washington, NC 27889.

    The family will receive friends at the home, 204 Betsy Elbow Road, Washington.
