 Raleigh, N.C.     Governor Pat McCrory was presented with the 200,000th Eastern Bluebird Rescue Group birdhouse today at the Executive Mansion. The Eastern Bluebird Rescue Group, led by founder Frank Newell of Warrenton, brings volunteers together in partnership with the State Employees' Credit Union (SECU) to build and sell birdhouses to replenish nesting areas for bluebirds.

"This project helps accomplish our shared goal of protecting our overall quality of life," said Governor McCrory. "I was honored to receive this birdhouse and proud it will be displayed on the grounds of the Executive Mansion."

 The SECU has partnered with this project since 2002. Since then, more than 200,000 houses have been built and delivered across the state. They are available for purchase at all branches of the SECU and proceeds go to the Eastern Bluebird Rescue Group.
