TMc: Tiny Houses | Eastern North Carolina Now

    Tiny House Link

Tiny homes are becoming popular with seniors wanting the convenience of suburban life during the week but loving the mountains or sea shore on weekends. Dragging a travel trailer and setting up in a camp ground is too much work: buy a cheap lot and install a tiny house.

Tiny homes are designed to be below residential construction requirements and avoid the mobile home classification. However, they can be moved though not aerodynamic. The idea is to own the property in a "do as you please" scenic setting. This is better than camping.

Conclusion: I often mention my second home in the mountains when meeting new friends. Hopefully, they will not ask too many follow up questions. I spent my early childhood in the "middle of nowhere" back road mountains in a rented 300 square foot fishing cabin. Dad was operating heavy equipment with the crews paving the road between Nowhere A and Nowhere B. Homes around the lake now cost $500,000 and up. Tiny Houses are less than $20,000. Retired couples have numerous 2nd home options.

TMac this is a good post and I especially liked the part about "do as you please" scenic setting and "middle of nowhere."

I personally never cared much for a second home, but if I had one it would not be tiny.
