James V. Harris, Sr. | Eastern NC Now

    James Vernon Harris, Sr., age 69, a resident of Washington, NC, died Sunday May 15, 2016 at his home.

    A graveside memorial service will be held 11:00am Thursday May 19, 2016 at Pamlico Memorial Gardens and will be officiated by Travis Boyd.

    Mr. Harris was born on November 29, 1946 to the late Ralph Harris and Lucy Moseley Harris. In 1964 Mr. Harris enlisted in the United States Army and in 1967 he left as a Specialist. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and just being outside. Mr. Harris liked to spend time with his children and grandchildren. He was never seen without a snuff can, his particular brand was Old Navy.

    Survivors include three sons, James "Froggy" Harris, Jr., Steven Harris, Michael Daniel Harris, all of Washington; five grandchildren, Dawn Harris, Melanie Harris, Haley Harris, Sarah Harris, Jacob Harris; one great grandchild, Malachi Harris; two brothers, Earl Harris, Willie Harris; and a sister, Jeanney Harris.

    He is preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Harris and a sister, Betty Harris.

    The family will receive friends from 5:00pm until 7:00pm Wednesday May 18, 2016 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory.
