For Immediate Release

Hello to all who are interested in the programs offered at Goose Creek State Park. We are back - one step/one program at a time! For this month, I will post each one as it comes up. Hopefully you will receive a complete listing for November sometime before October is over.

Please note that Flatty Creek, Ivey Gut, and a portion of Goose Creek trails are closed. At this time, campgrounds are not open at all.

So, bring a child out to this, the first program since Hurricane Irene hit in August!

    Sunday, October 9, 2011       Build a Feeder       3 p.m.

As the weather gets colder, you can help provide food for your furry and feathered friends. Join a ranger to learn about what these critters like to eat, and build your very own squirrel and bird feeder! This program is for ages 6 and up. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Please call the park office at (252) 923-2191 to register for this forty-five minute program.

Come visit your State Park and learn about all it has to offer as well as upcoming events. This informal discussion with the Park Superintendent will provide visitors a chance to ask questions and find out about what's going on at Goose Creek.
