    Press Release:

Raleigh, N.C.     Governor McCrory criticizes political correctness and defends privacy in a new campaign TV ad launched today, excoriating those pushing an extreme agenda on North Carolina and distracting from the important issues facing North Carolina families like raising teacher pay, creating jobs and cutting taxes.

"For months, Roy Cooper has pushed a false narrative about the state's privacy and protection law to divert attention away from his support for an extreme agenda that's out of step with North Carolina beliefs and values," said Russell Peck, Pat McCrory's campaign manager.

  • "Roy Cooper supports policies that allow boys and even grown men to use a girl's locker room or shower facility. Governor McCrory does not. The last thing North Carolina needs is a governor more interested in forcing a politically-correct, Washington, D.C. agenda on our state instead of focusing on what matters most to working families like jobs and education."

Despite Roy Cooper's false rhetoric and his supporters' attempts to promote boycotts against the state, statistics show North Carolina has added over 30,000 jobs since April, state revenue has increased and tourism has risen across the state.

    Transcript:

  • Pat McCrory: You know, when we were raising average teacher pay, creating new jobs and cutting taxes, other folks were actually pushing to make our schools allow boys to use the girl's locker rooms and showers. Are we really talking about this? Does the desire to be politically correct outweigh our children's privacy and safety? Not on my watch. Our kids and teachers are my priority. This is North Carolina. Let's do what's right.
