Transcript:

You know we all remember where we were 15 years ago on September 11, 2001.

The images from that day will forever be burned in our minds.

But 15 years later, the images I remember most are the heroes, the heroes that rushed into burning buildings and did everything they could to help their neighbors, friends and colleagues.

Some heroes were just regular people from throughout our country who donated blood, volunteered their time or prayed.

Some were military members and veterans.

And others were police officers, firefighters and other first responders.

It's those first responders who I especially want to recognize on the anniversary of 9/11.

We will never stop supporting and protecting those who protect us, from our military members, law enforcement officers and our firefighters.

So may God comfort the families of loved ones lost 15 years ago, and may He bless all of our first responders and the great state of North Carolina.
