    Mrs. Sarah "Polly" Pollard Woolard, age 79, of Washington, N.C, died October 29, 2016 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, N.C.

    A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Greenwood Cemetery in Greenville, N.C., officiated by D. J. Maxey.

    Mrs. Woolard was born in Pitt County on December 2, 1936, daughter of the late Jesse Dallas Pollard and Callie Paschal Taylor. She was a registered nurse serving the Beaufort County Community at Beaufort County Hospital, Britthaven and Ridgewood Manor Nursing Centers.

    Surviving are her husband, Lee Frank Woolard; daughters, Cathy L. Webster of Bath, N.C., Sandy L. Thompson of Bat Cave, N.C.; and son, Jimmy H. Woolard of Washington; five grandchildren, Brandon Welch and wife, Elizabeth of Bath, Francis Welch and wife, Staci of Blounts Creek, Caleb M. Woolard of Greenville, Daniel H. Wood and wife, Kristin of Norfolk, VA and Woody Sheppard of Washington and six great grandchildren, Haley N. Welch of Bath, Callie A. Welch of Bath, Keegan J. Welch of Blounts Creek, Finley A. Welch of Blounts Creek, Joshua Wood of Norfolk and Megan Wood of Norfolk.

    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jesse Pollard.

    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are to be made to the Marion L. Sheppard Cancer Center, 1209 Brown Street, Washington, N.C. 27889.
